Classic New England diner. Little dining room with booths and tables. Quick service style. Coffee was hot and the refills were quick. I got blueberry pancakes the size of steering wheels. Fluffy, golden and topped with powdered sugar. Hubs got the Boston breakfast and the seasoned home cut homefries were amazing!

I had a wonderful New England Breakfast at Country Chef Restaurant. The portions are substantial, and my Denver omelette was exceptionally delicious – the eggs were perfectly soft and full of flavor, and the home fries were equally tasty. The buttered toast with three jelly options was a nice touch. Everyone in our party was very satisfied with their meals, and the restaurant has a lovely, cozy ambiance. Highly recommend checking it out!

Wonderful breakfast. Over easy eggs, spicy home fries cooked perfectly, French toast – delish, large slice of ham. They were packed , but I was seated quickly and had my order taken within minutes. I’m pretty sure it was out in 5 minutes! Wow. There was absolutely nothing negative about my first experience at the Country Chef. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great breakfast.

I’ve come here numerous times, since moving to the area over 4yrs ago. Very small, fast paced breakfast joint. I have no complaints of their food, at times service can be slow (when short handed), but not once have I experienced any rudeness. Weekends tend to be very busy, as far as waiting in line. But it moves considerably speedy.
Nice bonus – I love their music playlist!

Food was good, came out quick. Service was absolutely terrible though. Both waitresses couldn’t be bothered to greet you coming in, there was no host so you seat yourself. My waitress was rude and seemed relieved that I gave my order so quickly. I kept to myself and scarfed down my food. Would’ve left faster if it didn’t somehow take them 10 minutes to take my payment, place wasn’t even that busy. I don’t believe in giving No Tip for poor service, but this place really tested me.

The food wasn’t so do bad but the staff was horrible. Stood for roughly 10-15 minutes before I was attended with my group, and after being attended we were missing chairs and were told to grab chairs ourself. The atmosphere inside did not feel friendly or inviting in the slightest. Staff couldn’t remember most of the items on our orders. Wouldn’t recommend

Country Chef in Wilmington is a solid go-to for a hearty breakfast or lunch. The atmosphere is classic diner-style—nothing fancy, but it’s clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The staff is friendly and attentive, and service is usually quick, even during busy times.
The menu has a great selection of breakfast staples and diner favorites. I had the corned beef hash with eggs and home fries—everything was cooked just right and came out hot. Portions are generous, so you definitely won’t leave hungry. Coffee is solid and always kept full.
Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that while everything was good, it wasn’t particularly standout or unique—but that’s not a knock. If you’re looking for dependable, well-made comfort food in a relaxed setting, Country Chef delivers exactly that. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Horrible experience
All staff grumpy and not helpful
Screwed up our order and there was only one other couple in restaurant
They asked another table if they already ATE and she was their waitress never served
It was like the first day trying to run a business
Very sad
Pancakes were so dry couldn’t eat them, she told me they were very fluffy (disagreeing with me)
Never will we return
