The place is so unassuming but the food is absolutely top notch. I called ahead and found out from a really lovely lady that they serve halal meat in their dishes. A friendly man took our order and suggested medium plus spice level, which turned out to be just the right amount of spice for us. When I read a review from someone calling the lamb korma here being the best, I had to try. They were right. I have not had lamb korma this tasty elsewhere. Silky, creamy, perfectly spiced gravy with soft pieces of lamb, boy oh boy… With their butter naan, each bite was like a piece of heaven. Speaking of, the butter on the butter naan was so sweet and creamy, which really enhanced both the naan and the curries. Staff were excellent: friendly and attentive. The Saag Chicken was great, as were the aloo paratha, onion pakoras, and mango lassi. But I will be dreaming about the lamb korma and butter naan

We have had takeout almost weekly for years. The most flavorful Indian food I’ve had in LA bar none. The team is friendly and welcoming – my kids love coming with me to say hi. Particular love for the korma, tikka masala, samosas and every variety of naan. This is a true gem of a restaurant with fabulous food and a big heart.

I typically do not write reviews, but felt a sense of duty to share our experience.
The proprietor and general service when calling for takeout was great. On time, and short wait.
That said, the food was not great. I wouldn’t say it’s terrible—but it definitely did not taste authentic in any way. Extremely sweet Chicken Tikka Masala and Malai Kofta. Bordering on desert sweet. As I’m writing this I feel a sugar crash, which you shouldn’t feel after eating curry! The chicken was very tough and chewy.
The Lamb Biranyi was objectively not that bad—but it did not taste authentic to us in any way. They used short grain rice and it had little texture. The lamb was not tender. The naan was a bit stale, and the mango lassi was the sweetest lassi I’ve ever had! More of a sweet shake, than yogurt. It was barely tart, and the cup full of ice, so quite watered down.
The samosas were quite good in our opinion, which was the saving grace.
Perhaps it was an “off” day, but in our case, there are way too many other options nearby (including a very authentic spot just a bit further north) to merit ever rolling the dice again.
Kind of a bummer, since it’s so close to us!

This was our second time here and we absolutely loved it, just like the first time we tried it.
Aside from the food, which was DELICIOUS, what we loved the most was the love and kindness of the server, the cooks and everyone there! We will continue coming to this amazing restaurant and we wish you nothing but the best, may your business be prosperous and full of blessings!

Delicious!
Definitely homemade and flavorful!
We got dahl, lamb coconut curry, chicken tikka masala, fried rice, and garlic basil naan.
All home runs.
My boyfriend loves spicy Indian food. I love mild Indian food. We were both happy with our food. For him, some places are not spicy enough. This spot had him blowing his nose throughout the meal. For me, sometimes mild curry is a bit bland but Royal Curry Cafe did not disappoint. My mild curry was still very flavorful and robust without the burn.
This was my first time having Indian fried rice. Where have you been all my life?
Lovely family run operation.
Open late! Hole in the wall building that’s easy to miss. Basic inside but clean and well lit.
Great service. Very attentive and generous. Will definitely return when in the area.

Generally I don’t write bad reviews but this is really really bad. One of the worst experience ever. No spoons no napkins what a terrible worst food I ever had in my life. Order samosas and biryani. Samosa was cooked in old stale oil looked like did couple of days ago and just served hearing in a microwave. Felt like a rubber or chewing gum in a first bite. Inspection is needed in this restaurant asap. If ai got sick I would definitely sue this restaurant . Now biryani, is it biryani or a fried rice? Pathetic place to order any food. I wish I could give negative reviews, I would have given -10

Amazing, authentic Indian cuisine. It’s definitely the best Indian food I’ve had. They offer different levels of spiciness so everyone can find something to eat. It’s a cute little restaurant with incredibly friendly personnel. We love going there on our vacation! Would definitely recommend.

We were here just two days ago, and the food was extremely tasty. The highlight for us was the juicy chicken on the sampler appetizer. Our favorite dish was the medium spice level sag paneer, which had a pleasantly comforting level of heat at the back of the mouth, making it even more enjoyable. We also loved the mint chutney sauce, which added an extra touch to everything we ordered: the sampler platter, chicken korma, sag paneer, and garlic basil naan.
Also, Raj was the best server, providing us with more information about the dishes and how they are prepared. He was really attentive. Overall, we recommend this place for a late-night bite!
