Wing On is still the benchmark for Chinese food in the area. Even after moving farther from my house, it remains our go-to because nothing else comes close. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care — not greasy, not bland, just done right every time.
The egg rolls are unbeatable: perfectly crispy on the outside with a generous, well-seasoned filling. The orange chicken is exactly what it should be — crispy, tender, and coated in a sauce that’s balanced, not overly sweet or artificial. Every dish tastes like they actually care about quality and consistency, which is rare.
Distance didn’t change the decision-making. When you want genuinely good Chinese food, Wing On is worth the drive.

Ordered on Christmas day. Not only did the lady hang up on me after I asked what time they closed (I wanted to make sure I wasn’t ordering right at close time) but when I called back she was very rude. Wait time was an hour which is to be expected on Christmas day. Upon arriving I was “greeted” by a man who had an awful look on his face. We ordered crab rangoons x2 that are about a 3×3 square with barely a half teaspoon of filling on the insides of every one of them. See photos I posted. The honey chicken we ordered had absolutely no honey taste to it, couldn’t even tell you what the sauce tasted like. The chicken tasted like it was a week old, dried up, and warmed in the microwave. I ordered miso soup that looks, tastes, and smells like water with seaweed and tofu. Thoroughly disgusted. First and last time ever coming here.

Food from Wing On is ALWAYS great! It’s fresh, hot, flavorful and they NEVER USE PEANUTS, which is great as I have a son with peanut allergies.

Lived less than a mile for about 19 years. And oh boy, I have been missing out. This is some of the most delicious chinese food I’ve ever had! I ordered the beef with brocolli, and it’s a classic. Can’t wait to go back next week

Got the roast pork fried rice and was over charged compared to pricing on the take out menu I was given on arrival. The food was very mid, I give it a 7.1. I give the experience a 6.1 as they have a small dining area which is nice but don’t offer a bathroom for paying customers, this is the suburbs not 7 Mile in Detroit. Sadly will not be returning.

They were very rude, also, the sweet & sour chicken didn’t have much sauce and there weren’t any vegetables in the sauce. My shrimp egg roll had one itty bitty shrimp, the rest was cabbage. We were given a very small amount of plum sauce for each egg roll. I had asked for two fortune cookies in the notes of my order. I was told because I ordered online I could only get the one that came with the combo. Online doesn’t say this and there wasn’t anyway to order more online. Instead of letting me know how much the extra cookies cost she kept telling me only one comes with the combo. I was willing to pay but before I had a chance to let her know that, she went off to the guy that was there in a tirade about it. She finally gave me one and then when I asked how much? She wouldn’t let me pay and he told me to get out of there. So much for my husband’s birthday dinner.

The service was very polite, but unfortunately the food was subpar. Both the general tsos and the wonton soup tasted stale or freezerburnt. The fried rice was pretty good. The mushu pork was served with flour torillas instead of chinese pancakes/rice wrappers

Super disappointed tried this place for the first time today. I ordered sweet and sour chicken with sauce on the side. I got charged for the dinner even though it was supposed to be the lunch portion. It says fried rice I got white rice and I didn’t get an egg roll that the menu says. The fried chicken tasted like fish and it was chewy super disappointed and I won’t be back what a waste of $15 should have went somewhere else.

Soooo if you want fresh, this is your spot. Overly priced for the amount of food you’d usually get from other places. Pass on the crab Rangoon. Half a teaspoon if not less of per Rangoon. Lady that took my order was super friendly and patient.
