Today I stumbled into one of the most remarkable culinary experiences I’ve had in a long time. At Holiday Restaurant in Barrio Chino, I ordered their Beef Cecina Curry Noodle Soup—and it might just be the best Asian soup I’ve ever tasted.

The broth was a vibrant tapestry of flavors: rich beef essence intertwined with the warmth of ginger and the bright lift of lemongrass. The cecina was tender, the noodles perfectly cooked, and every spoonful felt like uncovering another layer of depth.

A truly outstanding dish and an experience I’d recommend to anyone who enjoys bold, soulful cooking.

Great find in San Jose’s Chinatown! The eclectic decor is cool and unique.

The Siu Mai were delicious and a great start. The fried fish balls were well-presented but a bit too chewy for my taste.

The main courses, however, were incredible! The Pad Thai and the Bulgogi (#81) are must-orders. Both were flavorful and clearly made with care.

Definitely recommend and will be back to try more dishes!

A very nice and beautiful ascethic in the heart of barrio chino. The curry is pretty good and their ramen is large.

This is such a beautiful restaurant. The interior design is so rich. Beautiful paintings decorate the walls.
I came to have a drink and got a very warm-hearted welcome 🙂
What’s not so nice is that if you pay by credit card, you pay for the fee. They just add 10% to the bill without even telling you (that’s the one missing star).

Was attracted to this restaurant by its lively vibe on a recent evening. The ambiance, service, and food were top notch! We each had a noodle soup: mixed vegetable (pictured) and pork and dumplings. Nana took care of us and told us about some of the art on their gallery walls. The experience was completely delightful and surprising. I highly recommend Holiday to travelers looking for a delicious meal!

First time here! Great atmosphere. Located in the Barrio Chino of San Jose. Food was delicious, took a bit of time but was worth the wait. Portions are large so sharing is definitely recommended if you don’t have a big appetite. Service was slow but we did come in during the lunch rush hour.

I love a good wantan soup and this is the best I have yet tried in San Jose. Rough rustic chopped shrimp and pork filling is so good I’d be psyched to eat it in Hong Kong. A bit too much of the chicken bouillon in the broth which is a shame because it was well seasoned even before it. But still worth calling home about

Very cozy atmosphere with attractive and unusual design. The food and the service were spectacular. Freshly squeezed juices and good wine selection. We loved every dish we ordered. The noodles, the soup,, the shrimp prepared by the chief in front of you, everything was great. The cucumber salad super simple but yet amazing and different. Be aware of pretty large portions since everything is so yummy you may eat more than you wanted.
