The best authentic Afghan food you can find. It’s like being back in Kabul with your grandmother cooking for you. I have been on a quest across the USA trying Afghan restaurants trying to find a great Kofta. The only other restaurant I have found is a Michelin rated location in DC. If you’re looking for great Afghan food this is a must visit. If you have never tried Afghan food please go out of your way to try this place. You will not be disappointed. And sorry I don’t have any pictures of the food. I was so amazed by the quality and flavors that I didn’t stop to take a photo. I did get some current menu pics for you to start getting hungry while you plan for what you want to try.

Absolutely fantastic experience! The food was rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care and authentic Afghan spices. Every dish was perfectly cooked, from the tender meats to the fragrant rice and fresh bread. The portions were generous, the presentation was beautiful, and the service was warm and welcoming. You can really feel the tradition and love for Afghan cuisine in every bite. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy truly delicious and authentic food. I will definitely be coming back!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. This is by far the most delicious afghani food I’ve ever had! We were visiting Portland when we came across this food truck and it was AWESOME! The owner was super nice and generous too with the quantities! I’ll definitely be going back whenever I’m in Portland next!

Amazing food and wonderful service! Taste of Afghan truly brings authentic Afghan flavors to life. The kebabs were juicy, the rice was perfectly seasoned, and everything tasted fresh and homemade. I got served completely burnt naan ($4) tasted like a burnt charcoal cracker. Not good. Not sure how it was acceptable to serve that to customer. Butter chicken was good tho

Absolutely amazing food! You can taste the freshness and spices in every bite. I ordered the Afghani Pulao and Chicken Tikka, and both were cooked perfectly—juicy, flavorful, and filling. Portions are generous and prices are fair. This food truck is a hidden gem. I’ll definitely be back again.

I love Taste of Afghan! They have some of the best Afghani cuisine in Portland out of a food cart. My personal favorite dishes are the chicken biryani, Chapli kabob, and their Dal is delicious too. Make sure to try their shir chai as well! Everything is so well spiced and well seasoned. It’s become an almost weekly take out option for us.
The people that run this cart are incredibly kind and gracious.
Being Iranian myself, I love that I get an opportunity to speak Farsi with them every time we meet. I not only look forward to eating there every time I visit because of the amazing food, but also sharing in our cultures with one another. Please check them out when you get the chance!

This place is so yummy! The service is amazing too. The afghani pulao has been my favorite so far. The meat is so tender and flavorful. Highly recommend trying it.
Last night we ordered take out, #1 and #5, based on what is on the website and the #5 we received is not what we ordered. We thought we were getting the chicken tikke and we got some beef patties on rice. I believe it was the Chapli kabob. We were already home so we just ate it and it was good, but I’m looking forward to coming back and trying the chicken tikke. After looking at some of the images on Google Maps, it looks like the #5 in person is different than the website.
