The service was…
strange, our waitress seemed a little intimidated and it was hard to hear her when she spoke. For the most part she did a good job of taking the orders, but getting the food, the wait took a little longer than expected, and thats okay, I had fellowship with people I care about. Finally the food arrives and it smells amazing. The food was tasty but let me remind you, Im not a huge Mexican food lover, so My thoughts are already going to be hard pressed to find a “ratatouille” moment; lol.
I had the nachos, sense I already had a light snack before; side note make sure to eat all the nachos, there or just leave the plate as trash, because these chips of course get soggy and its quarrelsome to reheat lol.
Anyway, I also tried the Brisket Bria taco and it was good, but its nothing spectacular in my opinion.
Now let’s talk about the margaritas, sweet, strong, and dangerously delicious! I also really loved the tortilla chips; they were crisp and had a unique hint of lime that made them addictive. The portion sizes were generous, I couldn’t even finish my plate, and that’s saying something!
The service was exceptional from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and quick without being rushed. My only (small) complaint is that the rice and refried pinto beans were served together in the same bowl. I personally would’ve preferred them separated since I’m not a fan of refried beans. But that aside, everything else was truly satisfying.
I left super stuffed and happy. It’s definitely a place I’ll return to!
Now, let’s talk about the food – simply outstanding! We ordered the Chicken a la Chipotle, which was bursting with flavor and had just the right amount of spice. The Steak Poblano Salad was fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. And the Brisket Beef Enchiladas? Absolutely divine! The brisket was tender and flavorful, making for a truly memorable dish.
Every bite was a delight, and the quality of the ingredients shone through. Carmelita’s offers a fantastic menu with authentic flavors, and the portions are generous. Combined with the wonderful service we received from Karen, this was a truly fantastic dining experience. We highly recommend Carmelita’s and will definitely be returning soon! Ask for Karen – she’s a star!
The food was really good and what made it even better were the desserts. The espresso cheesecake was excellent, my first time trying coffee with cheesecake, and the churros were just as amazing.
The restaurant is located in a shopping center, so it’s on the smaller side, but I was pleasantly surprised to see they had a patio. Parking wasn’t the easiest since it’s a busy plaza, but we managed to find a spot in the back.
The interior is beautifully decorated, creating a really nice atmosphere. The food was just as impressive—everything we ordered tasted great, was well-presented, and reasonably priced. The drinks were also refreshing and well-made. They even have a happy hour with food and drinks from Monday all day, Tuesday to Friday, 3–6pm, and Sunday 6-9pm, which is a nice bonus.
My only complaint is that you could smell the nail salon next door as soon as you walked in. Since we sat on the patio, I’m not sure if the smell lingered inside the dining area.
Overall, it was a great experience, and I’ll definitely be coming back to try more from the menu—everything we had was delicious!
I ordered the Steak Tempiqueña. The Steak Tempiqueña did not miss with flavor and tenderness, with a perfectly grilled steak topped with guacamole and pickled red onions. Each bite melted in my mouth, leaving me craving more.
And the Beef Brisket Enchiladas? Absolutely divine! Slow-cooked brisket, tender and juicy, wrapped in tender tortillas, smothered in a tomato-based sauce, and cheese. The brisket simply fell apart, and the sauce added a depth of flavor that elevated the dish to new heights.
