Potato salad so good, took an extra order to go! How many times have you ever said that in your life?
Stumbled in, but definitely will be back! My husband and I were house hunting around NOLA and driving neighborhoods. We needed a place for a quick bite, but we were tired off hamburgers and other quick fare. Googled and found this place! Staff was so nice! Chatted with us. Big portions, lot of variety, and all at reasonable prices!! Music on point, too. Had the Italian cream cake. Mmm, mmm! Big ol’ hunks of cake, moist, not-too-sweet frosting. Daily specials! We had smothered okra, peas, potato salad, and bell pepper stuffed with rice dressing. I added a couple pieces of fish. My husband and I ate on this one plate and still had leftovers!
Pardon my picture. We started eating before I took it! The bell pepper is on top of a piece of parchment that we pulled back to show the smothered okra with shrimp and sausage over rice. The whole half of the container was full of that okra!

I have frequented this restaurant for at least over a year when they were Woodmere Deli. Everything I have ever eaten at this place had to have been prepared with love because it is sooo good! I am a regular who stops in on lunch quite often and the staff is so amazing and makes you feel like you are family! If you are looking for excellent comfort food or just something quick like wings and fries I promise you will NOT be disappointed. Hands down my FAVORITE Restaraunt/Cafe on the Westbank!

I came to stand in line for a hot meal for my consumer and I at Woodmere Cafe & Mama’s Kitchen. I spoke to the gentleman there and he was very generous and not to mention very manner-able. I want to give “THANKS “ to the people at this establishment for feeding the community free food at this time of need ( post Hurricane IDA). The food was delicious!!! GOD BLESS Y’ALL and THANKS AGAIN!!!

This was my first time at Woodmere Café and it won’t be my last, I got the 10pc Bourbon Heat wings w/ fries. It’s black owned and the customer service was excellent . They have daily lunch specials as well.

I went to order Yakan and the lady told me they didn’t have any so I feel as if you don’t have something then you need to close a restaurant down or take it off the menu they said they was all sold out and would have some more tomorrow, so I just ordered the gumbo which I asked what type of gumbo it was and they said shrimp, chicken gizzards, chicken, and hot sausage so I went ahead and ordered and paid for it and when I got home which is only like a mile down the street it was ice cold it had no shrimp in it. It had chicken and it had no hot sausage, but it did have gizzards I was so dissatisfied , it tasted bland. I understand it was at the end of the day because it was about 530 and they close at seven still nonetheless I believe if you have it on the menu and this is what’s in your type of food that you order, then that should be what it is , would I recommend this restaurant no I would not

I stopped in this establishment today for some fried fish and I must say it was EXCELLENT. It was hot, crispy, fresh and fried just the way I like it. The dining area was clean, the staff was friendly as was the environment and the music was nice. I would definitely recommend this Cafe to family and friends and plan on returning.

My husband had the steak, was delicious. Where can you get a steak that you’re able to cut with a plastic butter knife!! The gumbo, the greens, the loaded seafood potato, WOW!!!! Must check this place out!

I don’t normally write reviews, but this is deserving of one. The place was clean. The atmosphere was nice. The people were pleasant. And, this was the best shrimp po-boy I’ve had in such a long time! Oh, and the prices are amazing! Love love love!

I order 10 PC wings with fries and 6 inches hot sausage sandwich. The wings was great, the fries was burnt, hot sausage sandwich thin meat, and dry. Also they past the debit and credit card fees to the customer. My husband was disappointed with his sandwich.
