My boyfriend and I came into Sourdough & Co (San Marcos) for soup and left genuinely impressed. The soup was packed with flavor and super comforting — perfect if you’re craving something warm and satisfying.
What really made the experience, though, was Dave, who was the only person working at the time. Despite being solo, he went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. His positive attitude and attentiveness truly made our visit memorable.
Great food, even better service. We’ll be coming back ! Thank you, Dave !

They do not close at 9. They lock the door at 8:30/8:45 and clean up until 9. Twice now, on my lunch I’ve thought I’d give it a try. 8:32 the first time. They were all locked up. Second time 8:45. Already closed up shop. I just wish they’d put a final call time or something on here so you don’t waste your time. It’s all really young highschool kids working here so I can understand the poor management.

I think it’s time for a review. My family and I have been coming to sourdough for about 2 years. At this point, you can call us regulars. That’s how much we love it. Phenomenal sandwiches, incredible people, absolutely love it.

I’ve been here about 4 times now and the sandwiches are great. The service, on the other hand, is not. On each of the Sundays I have visited, the staff has been unfriendly (i.e. does not greet customers, nor respond to my saying “thank you” in any way). On the last day I was in, January 4th, the dining room was again visibly dirty, with food and used napkins littering the floor. This is not an environment most would enjoy eating in, so beware.

Wife ordered from the web portal and I sat there waiting inside for the order as people were getting their orders inside. Waited 30 mins after the order was placed only to find out it hadn’t been started. Not sure if they honor the order queue …

Such an underrated sandwich chain! Their fluffy sourdough bread is my favorite since it tastes gut healthy without being too sour. I always order a build your own with turkey, provolone, etc. and it never fails to deliver. More people should be talking about Sourdough & Co.!

This place was so good but has 0 employees working ever now and the wait times are crazy long. No one even takes your order when you go in. I stood there for 10mins before I asked if the 1 person working could take my order. She said I had to wait it’s just her. If you order online it says via text your order is ready and you go in and the girl says sorry I do that so I don’t get in trouble with my times and hasn’t even started on your sandwich. Management must have changed for the worst

This is one of my favorite lunch places. I either get the turkey sandwich or Cobb salad. There was a slight error with my order today and they went out of their way to make it right. I come here A LOT and this is the first time I’ve ever had something come up. Do yourself a favor and order a cookie too.

Wrong meat on sandwich. Sandwich was very bland. They forgot my macaroni for kids meal so had to go back and no side pickle. Not worth the $33 for a sandwich and kids meal.
EDIT: I went back the next day and the employees were very nice about the whole situation. Although I didn’t get a refund, they remade my sandwich. Great customer service

Loved the Hot Pastrami with Provolone! The 4″ sandwich was just the right size for lunch. Also, their drink machine was spot on with a Minute Maid Sparkling Pink Lemonade. I added some sweet tea and made a great mix — much like an Arnold Palmer. Very friendly servers too!
