Spectacular design and delicious cake. We ordered a cake from La Dolce Vita for my 60th birthday party and it came out beyond our expectations. The owner Peter decorated it himself and it looked like a piece of art. It also tasted amazing. We were so impressed and Peter himself delivered it to the venue to make sure it arrived safely. We really appreciated that.
La Dolce Vita is also an awesome place for coffee, cakes and pastries. You will not be disappointed.

Don’t normally leave reviews, but just have to send some love to La Dolce Vita. Coming from Long Island NY, we had a hard time finding a good Italian bakery and this place blew us away!
Family owned business, amazing pastries and a staff that recognizes you when you walk in. You can’t beat it!
Using them to cater our wedding (also not to mention the pricing is so reasonable!) and will be regular customers there for many years to come.

I ordered black forest cake for my husband’s birthday. They messed up the writing on the cake and nobody was there to correct it. This was my husband’s first birthday with our newborn and I was very sad with the appearance of the cake. I did not make a big deal out of it. When we cut the cake it was not exactly a black forest flavor. It was more of a chocolate flavor which was bummer. Now we have a 18 inch cake sitting in our fridge and nobody wants to touch it. I called next day to share my feedback and seems like they dont care about customer service. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLEACE!!

Ordered a 12 inch carrot cake this past weekend. It was for a farewell party. When we cut into the cake there was no sign of carrots- it was a plain yellow cake with cream cheese icing. It did not look, taste nor smell like a carrot cake. There were minute flecks of orange here and there. For this sham of a cake I was charged $72 and change. What a waste of my money. Attached is a picture of a the cake before it was cut and after. The writing was juvenile, not at all professional. The decoration was mediocre. All in all a total disappointment.

I really wanted to like this place. The woman working at the counter was so friendly and the pastries looked delicious and amazing. Unfortunately looks can be deceiving. The Black Forest cake was dry and lacked flavor. I don’t know how anyone could achieve that level of dryness unless the cake had been sitting in the display case for a while or had been previously frozen. The tiramisu was fresher but had barely any espresso in it. I was looking forward to eating my desserts all day but couldn’t take more than one bite before tossing them in the trash. They do give a cash discount which is nice, but ultimately only meant I wasted slightly less money than I would have had I used a card.

I was excited to try this bakery out which seemed to have good reviews. What I got was a dry cake that was upside down with writing that looked like a 4 year old did it. I could have went to a grocery store and got a nicer cake for my money. Not one person at my daughters party liked the cake. I bought this cake a few months ago so I don’t remember the exact price but it was around $70 for a quarter sheet. Entirely too much money for the cake I received. What a huge disappointment.

What an excellent choice for a bakery! Everything is fresh and you can tell the second you walk through the door. Well worth the price. Premium baked goods. Worth the trip from Phillipsburg NJ.

I’m not Italian and I don’t have Italian family members, but sitting down here with a latte and pastry felt like visiting Grandma’s. It was all just very comforting and homey. The drink and treat were also incredible. I got the almond croissant and it was delicious: not too sweet and with a lovely flavor and lots of filling. The family that runs the place is just as sweet as the pastries they make. I’ll definitely be back.

I ordered a cake from this bakery and was super excited to bring my sister a birthday cake centered around amaretto for sentimental reasons. When I was told about La Dolce Vita, I went to their website and saw the Torta Amoretta, described as:
“Confectionery cake composed of three
layers of sponge cake brushed with
Amaretto and filled with cream. Decorated
on the sides with crushed macaroons and
topped with Chantilly cream and Amaretto
cookies.”
The cake in the photo below doesn’t look like that. They covered the sides in toasted almonds and called it a day. I also spelled out my sister’s name on the phone, starting with “T as in Tom”, and they originally spelled it “Pimera” so I had to try and turn the P into a T. I was rushing around and I should have untaped the box and checked it prior to leaving.
I will say that the taste was very fresh. I have no complaints about the taste of the cake, but I thought I would be bringing her a much more beautiful cake for $50.
