Madras Dosa Co near Harvard University was an absolute delight! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully authentic.

We started with narial tender coconut, which was incredibly refreshing, followed by a perfectly balanced mango lassi not too sweet and wonderfully creamy. The paneer sandwich was hearty and satisfying, with well-seasoned paneer and a nice crunch.

The South Indian classics truly shined: idly was soft and fluffy, rasam was aromatic and comforting, and the upma was perfectly textured and mildly spiced just like home-style cooking.

Great food, comforting flavors, and a welcoming vibe make this place a must-visit. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic South Indian cuisine in the Harvard area!

We visited Masala Dosa Company and had a really enjoyable dining experience.

For starters, we ordered aloo tikki (4/5), which was nicely seasoned and satisfying, along with hot chocolate (4/5), which was comforting and well made. For the main course, we had the butter masala dosa (4.5/5), and it was the highlight of the meal, perfectly crispy, golden, and the potato filling was absolutely delicious and very well spiced.

The food quality, portion sizes, and taste were impressive, especially considering how affordable it was. We spent around 60 CAD in total for two people, which felt like great value for money.

Overall, a fantastic spot for South Indian food that’s tasty, filling, and budget-friendly. Highly recommended!

The staff here were kind and the atmosphere was very good. Unfortunately the food fell a bit flat in terms of flavor and quantity for the price. The dosa was a bit too thick and cakey for our taste, rather than thin and crisp – the spicy potatoes were tasty.

I ordered from Madras Dosa Harvard through Uber Eats while I was sick, which is why this experience was especially disappointing.

I ordered idli, but instead the restaurant crossed it out on the generated receipt and replaced it with vada without informing me or offering a refund or substitution choice. When I called, I was told they didn’t have idli at the time so they replaced it themselves, and that I could place another order later since they had it again. This shouldn’t be decided without informing the customer — especially after waiting nearly an hour for delivery.

We also ordered a dosa, which arrived without any condiments, making the meal incomplete. When I called to explain the issue, the response was that they were busy and the manager was not available. Being busy shouldn’t mean basic order accuracy and communication are ignored.

The food itself is average, and we’ve ordered from here multiple times before, which makes this even more frustrating. A simple call, message, or refund would have made the situation much better. I hope the restaurant improves communication and order handling going forward.

The dosa was quite small and okay. Same goes for the chutney and the sambar. It was quite expensive for what you get. It certainly looks better than it tastes.

Madras Dosa Company, or “MDC” as we lovingly call it, is a comfort spot I would go to every day if I could. I’ve been going here for years now, bringing many different friends and family, with the utmost confidence that it will hit the spot each and every single time. The paneer canteen sandwich is my personal favorite (the chips and sauce accompany the sandwich so perfectly ), but I’ve loved everything I’ve gotten including the potato sandwich, all of the chaats, dosas, vadas (the rasam is so flavorful and reminds me of home), and of course the many and salt lassis. I cannot say enough positive things about the lovely people who work here, who always greet me and my others warmly and welcomingly, and they even recognize me and my orders now (and that’s not just because I’m a frequent customer)! The atmosphere is also so warm, with Bollywood and Hollywood classics playing in the background and cool interior decoration. It’s also such a plus that MDC is open late so it satisfies that late night craving while being insanely yummy. The fact that I still bring close and new friends here these many years later shows how much confidence I have in the quality and warmth of MDC, and I hope this can continue for many years to come!!

Not a good experience at all.

The food was not very appetizing.

They charge $5 for the tea which is unheard of, from a machine too? Thats ripping people off.

My friend ordered lamb keema and rice and it looked the most bland, unappetizing, food that was absolutely horrible. He said it tasted the same as well.

At least make it prettier. You advertise for something, have it. If not, dont.

I wouldn’t eat here again.

Tea was good but for the price, no.

Dosa- average.

Indian food is supposed to be a delicacy.

For a place to be in Harvard square and serving this? Thats sad.

A small south Indian food restaurant in Harvard university campus. Limited seating area. We ordered dosa and samosa both were good. Its self service there. I don’t recall the price but i think was slightly on the expensive side. They don’t give free water (usually restaurants in US provide free water). No additional chutney or sambhar, you have to purchase the same. Food quality good though and you won’t miss Indian food while in US 🙂

Have not rated “atmosphere “ as we ordered take-out.

The paneer veg sandwich had all the right flavors. Wish they would offer half sandwich, to help those on portion controlled eating.

The dosa, chutney had the right level of flavoring. Of course getting dosa to go is not the best option but their attention to detail on the packaging is awesome.

Re-ordered more food over the weekend. Buy 1 get 1 free options as well.

Love the packaging and presentation. I wish I could tag other restaurant owners, to copy this amazing packaging and presentation. Taste was awesome!!!!!
