Built in 1892 from stone and metal, the Stronghouse remains the last surviving intact building in Telluride’s historic Four Corners corridor.

This is a beautifully and tastefully renovated restaurant that perfectly captures the character of historic Telluride. The preservation of the original stonework, antique mining equipment, 12-inch rough-cut hardwood floors, and the elegant bar creates an atmosphere that feels authentic and timeless, like stepping back into old-time Telluride.
The food was just as impressive as the setting. I started with the traditional bratwurst served on a hot crisp bun, absolutely outstanding. The brown mustard paired perfectly with the brat’s crispy, seared skin and rich flavor. The Italian beef sandwich was equally exceptional, offering a subtle spice that added depth without overpowering the provolone. Even the fries were a standout!! Crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside.
I had planned to return during my trip but unfortunately ran out of time. This is a definite must-visit if you find yourself in Telluride.

Stopped by on our first night for drinks and decided to come back our second night to try the food. Everything was so good! Great beer and the food was amazing. Loved the Mac n cheese and beef sandwich, and the side salad was huge and so delicious. They took great care to accommodate my daughter’s food allergies. Gorgeous building too.

Amazing place with perfect service. Probably one of our favorite spots in telluride. Pretzel is a must and the bratwurst are as advertised! Photos of great red Irish beer, Jameson, pretzel, and the bratwurst is half eaten but that should say something. Beers are awesome!

I really enjoyed their beer selection, which offers a variety of options for every palate. Pairing it with their brat made for a satisfying meal; the brat was flavorful and well-cooked. For families, there’s a kid-friendly option with the hotdog and fries combo, which is priced at $11. The outdoor seating on the balcony was a highlight, especially with the fall leaves creating a beautiful and relaxing backdrop. It’s a great spot to enjoy a casual meal with scenic views.
On the downside, I wasn’t a fan of the pretzel. It was a bit too hard for my liking, and at $9 or $10, it didn’t feel worth the price. However, the fries were fantastic. They’re on the thinner side, with a perfect balance of crunch on the outside and a soft, fluffy inside. Overall, while some items were hit or miss, the setting and beer selection made it a great spot to relax and enjoy the season.

The beer here was superb. We had The Red Ale, Stout and a black IPA. The ambiance is super comfy yet streamlined. The brat of the day and salad were great. I enjoyed the beer cheese and skinny fries. The veggie pot pie however had frozen carrots, peas and corn. I was also not a fan of it’s crust. Just kind of meh. I think if you are doing a veggie dish you should at least put the work in to cut fresh veggies…

Stopped in today for a quick snack & some beer at the bar. They make a great sour & bourbon barrel beer (if you like founders KBS this is a lighter amazing version of it). We both got soups (butternut squash & green chili) came out super hot and fresh with a homemade biscuit. Service was amazing – the bartenders were super friendly and walked us through the menu and beer choices!

Truly incredible! Not a single thing was even mediocre – it all was really top notch. The soft pretzel and beer cheese was just hands down one of the best things I’ve EVER eaten, and I couldn’t even decide if the beer cheese dip or mustard it came with was better. The beer was all very good, but pay special attention to their Stronghouse Lager and the Vaccinator Imperial Stout. They both felt a step above the rest.

We stopped in for a post hike snack and beer and we were pleasantly surprised how good the food and beers are! The basket of fries are very similar to McDonald’s, and I mean that in a positive way! Get the beer cheese and ask for some of their Basil Aioli as well!
The Cesar salad with Fried Chicken was also amazing, it makes me think their sandwich is out of this world!

Friendly service, super cute place, and delicious food! The salad was amazing and the soft pretzel did not disappoint. The coconut brownie skillet was a little too gooey for me and I didn’t see or taste any coconut, which was the part I was super excited about.
