celebrated a birthday here with family and it was such a wonderful experience. the vibe was moody and cozy, creating a very understated yet refined atmosphere. our server was so friendly and helpful – she explained the menu and pointed out some dish highlights. everything we shared was a hit, but we especially liked the half chicken, burger, sweet potato, and the spruce tip ice cream. this is a really special place, and i hope to be back soon!

Supper at the Mill was recommended to me by multiple people, so I had to give it a try. I was not disappointed! The setting is intimate and very unique. Loved the design and being right on the river. The food was incredible, and the staff knows the menu inside and out, which was helpful when trying to make decisions about what to order. Paige was an amazing server! We loved the open kitchen and watching the food be plated; it made for a really unique dining experience. 10/10, definitely coming back next time I’m in the area!

Food was absolutely decadent. Very rich and flavorful. Our group of 4 split 2 starters, 2 sides, and 3 entrees. The in-season cherry spritz was fantastic as well. Our favorite dish, while not pictured, was the hasbrown— it’s a must order! Our service was good and server was knowledgable. The speed at which our food came out was a bit varied, but overall great experience!

The atmosphere was nice but the food was so salty! Really disappointing for the price.
I took my wife out to the Mill for her birthday and we were both excited to go as we had friends recommend it. We ordered two starters, two sides, and two entrees. The scallops were ok (not great) and the bread was fine but the butter was unpleasantly salty. We wrote that off and eagerly waited the rest of our food. It was probably 40 minutes before we got the rest of our dishes with no updates on timing. The food looked great but we were quickly bummed out with how extremely salty everything was. Every bite was more disappointing than the last – it was a huge miss.
I paid quite a bit of money for something that ended up being really terrible. Resy sent me a request for a private review the day after and I let them know but have not heard anything back from them a couple weeks later.
Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

Amazing experience – the entire staff was kind and helpful and fun! The food was amazing, from the bread service to the seasonal snacks to the delicious chicken. Don’t miss: the zucchini blossom, the duck leg, the mushrooms! Will definitely return!

The Mill absolutely slaps. It is insanely cozy, and living in Chicago definitely spoils us with great food. This place still goes toe to toe with the city’s best restaurants, just in the warmest, most inviting setting imaginable. Any cozier and you would either be starring in a Lifetime Christmas movie or fully passed out after your second bite.

High quality well prepared and Tasty gluten free (allergy) meal. Everyone has their favorite burger, this is now mine since last nights dinner. I was planning on a cider with dinner but the ABV selection caught my eye. I started the meal with a creation that mimics a Manhattan wo the slap. It was perfect slightly sweet but not overly and was followed up with a vegetable starter. the bokchoy was perfectly tender not under or over cooked. It was dressed in a complexly seasoned sauce and adorned with pine nuts for an added buttery crunch. I really enjoyed the creative vegetable starter. There was enough on the plate to share with my husband. The burger tasted fresh ground, though I did not verify this fact but I’m certain it was at least never frozen meat. The mouth feel of crisply charred meat and warm interior topped with a great understated onion soft along with a crispy flaked onion top. The cheese was excellent quality tangy but it also did not need any cheese with all the flavor present, my preference but I’m a minority. The star of the show were these incredible tater tots which have the crispest chew and the softest mashed center. When my husband and I stare and ask, “how did they do that?” An updated adult name is needed for these creations. We ended with sharing a perfectly poached pear swimming in a divine honey basil sauce. The staff were the perfect amount of knowledgeable attentive and not in our way. The indie music of an unknown female vocal really complimented the at home upscale vibe in the lower level of an old mill with Big windows exposed beams and a glazed over floor. Is this expensive high end experience worth the cost? Yes planning my return. I happen to be in Glen Arbor quite often making this spot a local establishment but if I lived/vacationed elsewhere on the peninsula or in Traverse City, I would travel for this experience. Oh I should add compliments to the chef.

Had dinner on our sleeping bear dunes vacation and it was such a beautiful venue. The staff were so helpful and really fun. The menu is unique, with a lot of really cool incorporation and use of local sustainable ingredients and half of the fun was learning about the food, prep, etc. We will be back!

We had high expectations for a nice dinner here during our trip to Traverse City, Michigan. The dusty gravel driveway to the restaurant leaves you with needing a car wash. There are plenty of handicap parking spots but the restaurant is barely accessible for those customers so what is the point?
It is a nice and quiet restaurant with limited seating.
The milk bread was good but could have been a complementary item provided with dinner. My wife ordered the strawberry salad.
I saw the lettuce being dumped from the supplier’s container onto the plate. Some cut unripe strawberries were added and there was just a hint of dressing on it. I could have easily made that myself.
I ordered the King Salmon. I guess I should have ordered several menu items to create a complete meal but I did not and this main course came without anything else. It was a big green blob on the edge of a plate. My hope that there must be a real nice piece of salmon underneath was squashed as well. More like thin salmon you buy in the frozen seafood section at the grocery store. Not worth $ 49 for sure. We left disappointed and still somewhat hungry.
