If I could give zero stars, I would.
Hunan Garden on Fischer Blvd cannot get an order right to save their lives. This isn’t a one-time mistake — it’s a pattern. The most ridiculous part? They charge an additional $2.75 for PLAIN FRIED RICE. Yes, you read that correctly. Removing the egg, pork, and vegetables somehow costs more, despite them using fewer ingredients.
And even after paying the upcharge, they still don’t give you what you ordered.
When you call to complain, they offer the classic “credit for next time.” Spoiler alert: there is no credit. This has happened before, and when you call back to use it, the girl answering the phone suddenly “can’t find any record” of it. Convenient.
When I physically drove back to the restaurant with the incorrect food and asked for a refund, an employee tried to flat-out deny what I ordered, claiming I asked for noodles instead. Thankfully, I had the menu with me — the same menu where they had clearly written “PFR + $2.75”. So much for that story. She should probably just let the manager handle it next time instead of butting in where she isn’t needed. He was handling the situation just fine until she put her FALSE, unnecessary two cents in.
This place is a mess — disorganized, dishonest, and unapologetic. In today’s economy, eating out is a luxury, not a given. If customers are paying extra for something as basic as plain fried rice, the bare minimum expectation is receiving the correct food.
I will never order from this establishment again, and I strongly suggest others save their money and their patience.

Best Chinese food in Toms River, hands down. The General Tso’s chicken and egg rolls are amazing — super fresh, crispy, and full of flavor. The staff is always friendly and the food comes out fast.

I’m from NYC traveling to the shore for some relaxation. I tried this place with my partner the staff is highly aware of customer service which is key to bringing back business she was always on top of the dishes and water and nice . The food was great fresh and tasty not greasy and so much of it for a fair almost not believeble price. Like I said I’m from nyc I know outrageous prices and fair ones and crappy Chinese to good Chinese… Definitely come here to eat and enjoy pretty scenary and tasty food.

It’s been awhile since I was here because the last time I was there there prices had gone up and I feel the quality of the food went down. Stopped in today to give it another try but the find out the prices had gone up again with no change to the food. They also charge for every house sauce and noodles now. It’s a shame this used to be my favorite place to go.

I just got dinner for myself and it was terrible. The Chicken in the sweet and sour chicken was like concrete and tasted gross. I took one bite out of the Fried dumplings and threw the rest in the garbage. This place use to be really good. I’ll never go back.

Great food. If Joe gets in fresh bok choy just ask. He’ll cook it up no problem. If not on the menus. Great delicious food. Staff is very friendly. Food excellent. Been dining here for over 30 years TAKE Out is very good. Either dining in or out the food is superb. If your not thier when your order is ready blame yourself if takeout taste different from sitting. Its always been on spot!

Just got this delivered. The wonton soup had 2 dead flies floating on the top when I opened the container. I called Hunan to let them know and I was told I’d be taken care of next time! I’m throwing the entire order in the garbage! A $50 waste! DISGUSTING!!!!

Horrible first of all my fox was cold on a pick up second of all we found a roach in our food I was disgusted and horrified the costumer service was horrible they rushed us off the phone after 30 seconds I will never and I mean never even if it was the last good on earth order from them again the health department needs to pay the a visit
