We went by Peking Express drive thru hoping to get really good “American Chinese food” and we got exactly that.
I give the atmosphere five stars because as far as using a drive thru, this was great from start to finish, and took less than ten minutes. The staff member at the window was very kind and asked follow up questions to see if we needed utensils/sauces/etc.
My only complaint-I wish the food was spicier and that they had at least a couple of authentic dishes made with that same level of effort. This is really good and fresh food. It’s just very “Americanized” in regard to the spice and flavors.
We ordered the shrimp fried rice, orange chicken, honey chicken, and a family size order of crab Rangoon. Everything tasted fresh. I’m not personally into fried rice, but I’d order theirs. The shrimp are present on top, also throughout the rice, and they’re not over cooked.
I would absolutely recommend Peking Express for amazing fast Chinese food!!!

Large portions. Reasonably priced. Can get noodles spicy or regular. We have been going here for several years. They never disappoint. I will only eat Crab Ragoon from here. Very good flavor . Very nice people

I have been going to this spot about 20 years now and is always a 10/10. I have only ate inside once and it was very clean but it was nothing spectacular but that’s fine with me! There is a reason locals will wait in a long line here.

Peking Express is one of my favorite spots. The Governor Shrimp is hands down my favorite dish—always made fresh and absolutely delicious. You can really taste the quality and care that goes into the food. The staff is very nice and welcoming, and the customer service is consistently great. Highly recommend giving this place a try!

Drive through only. I appreciate that. This is probably the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. The orange chicken is top notch. The chicken is good quality, no gristle pieces that usually come in Chinese food. The rice is so flavorful, it’s even a yellowish color like it’s cooked in something. My new favorite spot.

Best chinese food place in the KC area! Food is always delicious, large portions – enough to feed 2 with 1 meal – and great prices. Never spend more than $20 to feed my boyfriend and myself.

We recommend this Chinese takeout restaurant as the best in the Independence area to everyone. Great portion sizes, the meals come with a crab ragoon, the chicken pieces are just the right size and not too big, and the service is always good.

Worst food I have ever had. Ordered shrimp fried rice and it tasted old and burnt. Pretty sure it had pan scrappings cuz lil pieces of slimy beef in it. And absolutely no flavor for crab rangoons! Waste of $40. Will never eat here again!
