I’ve been to the Sawmill exactly twice. The first time was to meet a friend and I sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and, it turned out, was one of the owners. She didn’t seem to know their whiskey offerings, but she found out and served it as ordered, so I can’t really complain.
The second time was on Monday evening for “pool night”. It’s when a local league plays and I, once again, came down to meet some friends who were playing.
The waitress was nice and attentive even though I only ordered water (I was thirsty). I’d looked at the menu for a bite to eat but considering their is a Sonic right next door I couldn’t justify $11.00 for a hamburger.
I still have yet to eat there.
Otherwise, the place is in fairly good condition. It’s clean and well kept and has plenty of TVs for those of you who watch sports.

The service was good. It is clean and well kept. The food was alright. I went there twice now. The fries are really good but the burgers are a hit and miss.

It’s a laid back kind of place where locals come to banter at the bar, and sometimes with some adult topics so if you have impressionable children, maybe request a seat along the back wall.
Laid back is really the best way to put it, if you are in a hurry or are finicky about service, some things might irk you about this place, but if you just want place to hang out with friends, play some pool, grab a bite to eat, it’s a great place to go. Service is like cell service, great sometimes, not so great other times but if you’re easygoing it won’t be an issue.
What I care for the most is the thought management put into their menu and their food. They have an array of appetizers (can’t go wrong with cheese curds), whoever works the fryer is a master at their craft. They make their ranch in house (they are super proud of it), and burgers have always been good. Salads were hit and miss for me there, but overall the menu is fun and inviting and food was cooked well every time we’ve gone.

Amazing place to eat with a great atmosphere! I have also done an inspection on the fire system in the kitchen. I see many kitchens everyday for years and I can honestly say, their kitchen is very clean. The owner takes a lot of pride in her restaurant and you can tell. Definitely recommend eating here anytime!

Clean,food good, service only us and another couple, the owner a service person and a cook and maybe someone else. They never checked on us. We could have walked out, but we didnt. We waited 20 minutes. Before we even got our bill so i would say service needs more looking into. And more eyes on customers to sell more product. Either the owner needs to stay on the floor or the waitstaff needs to stay on the floor.

Rated a 2 vs 1 simply because the waitress and staff had been incredibly friendly and responsive. Just ordered a basic burger. But half the bun was soaked in a tasteless oil that kept coming from the flat flavorless somewhat thin burger patty at each bite. School cafeteria quality.. in a really rough way. Really not worth the price. Fries I’m pretty sure are frozen that prepped.. no seasoning on them.

When the saw mill 1st open my wife and I went to give it a try. Service was ok, food tasted good, adult Mac and cheese was really good.
Didn’t even make it out of the restaurant before their food ran right through me. I talked to a friend of mine a few days later he said the same thing happened to him.
We gave them a long while before we went back.
I got the impression they have given up on trying to put out quality food. The Mac and cheese was horrible. My burger and fries were cold we ended up sending back all the food and leaving.
The manager did offer to get us something else. The problem I had with that is, I was pretty sure I was going to get sick from their food.
It’s not if someone will get sick it’s WHEN.
Be very selective in your choice of food and if it’s not hot when it gets to the table send it back. That goes for any restaurant really.
There are other places in Elizabeth that have a better track record than the saw mill.

Service was okay, food wasn’t cooked correctly, asked for medium rare but got well done. Servers did their hair in front of the customers while three tables were waiting for either food or check. Owner or manager only drank at the bar and talked to staff, distracting them from their work. The cook came out and helped Buss the tables when the servers could have done it on their own. Atmosphere was good, good music, and friendly people. Beautiful place, lot of potential, but better hospitality and impressions of the servers.

Best place ever! Great service and even better food, this is a must eat at and get the chicken fried chicken sandwich!!!!
