Decided to come here after checking out the website and a couple reviews. Im from Joliet but staying with family, so at home I have 5 good Mexican places I can walk to normally. Got a steak burrito and pork tamale for about 16$ total. Burrito was around 12 tamale was like 4. Got home and opened the bag and was immediately concerned because of how cold most of the burrito was in the foil and how teeny tiny the tamale wrapper was. In Joliet 4$ gets you a tamales the size of an adult guinea pig(slightly exaggeration but seriously they are almost a meal themselves check out Atotonilco or El Molcajete II). Ignoring the tiny tamales wrapper, I start on the burrito which Id say 75% cold, biting into it there was very little meat and beans and was mostly lettuce, sour cream, cheese with some onion and cilantro in it.(See Pictures). I moved onto the tamales praying it would be better. It wasnt. I unwrapped the foil and found it in a corn husk meaning the actual tamales is even smaller then I thought. I open the husk and this is what greets me.(See Pictures)Burnt and dried out, insanely tiny, borderline unedible. It tastes like it was made yesterday and left on a roller until I ordered came tonight. Safe to say i wouldnt have eaten the tamale if it was free and will not be returning.

We stopped by Cilantro Taco Grille in Romeoville, Illinois after being drawn in by the cool name, logo, and overall vibe—because let’s be honest, a good taco joint is always worth checking out. What we found was a hidden gem that turned out to be part of a small chain, but still felt very local and welcoming.
The decor really stands out—it’s bright, fresh, and very “cilantro-inspired,” with lots of green tones that give the place a clean and lively feel. They also have an outdoor seating area, which is a huge plus. It felt calm, cozy, and perfect for enjoying food in a relaxed setting.
Now, onto the food—which didn’t disappoint at all. Their street tacos were authentic, flavorful, and hit all the right notes for a taco lover. I also tried something new: the chicken torta, which was basically a Mexican-style chicken sandwich. It was absolutely delicious—hearty, well-seasoned, and super filling. Everything tasted fresh and clean, which made the whole experience even better.
The service was just as good—the staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. It’s clear they care about both the food and the people who come in.
Overall, Cilantro Taco Grille is definitely a must-visit spot in Romeoville if you’re craving tacos, tortas, or just a fresh and flavorful Mexican meal in a chill atmosphere.

Placed an order online for pick up only to discover it was closed. On a Saturday at 1pm when it said open. Just a paper sign on the door with yesterday’s date on it! Ugh! No one answers the phone. How do I get my money back?

I haven’t had anything other than beef and steak tacos and churros The tacos are very good but a bit small. I love their churros. They’re hard to stop eating.
I also like going there on their special Taco Tuesday.

My husband, son and I went for dinner, we all got taco dinners. The cashier was in good spirits. The food quality is great but portion size is disappointing, please look at the picture. For $15 a plate I expected a little more meat on the tacos and more rice. I know businesses need to make a profit but holy moly. There was barely any onion & cilantro. The hot salsas were ALL amazing. Place was nice, modern & clean.

Lately the tacos have been tasting really good!
I don’t if it’s new management like they said or they are doing something differently with the tortillas. All in all they have been consistent and my husband and I keep going back.

Ordered 2 steak tacos and asked about price and was told where else would I find tacos of this quality by manager. Jokes on them because I can go down the street to Taco Dale and get better quality for the same price if not cheaper. Don’t spend your money here, go to Dale.

We purchased several tacos at the drive thru a month ago. When we arrived home four of the tacos were the wrong meat. I called and talked to a woman who asked if I wanted them remade or take down our name for future credit. I went in today 4/10/25 to redeem my four chicken tacos. The woman said there was no credit. Also if it’s been over two weeks the credit was thrown out. The woman who I originally talked to did not say there was an expiration date. Since they will not honor their word and / or have very shady practices I would avoid at all costs. I cannot believe a company today would risk a bad review from an honest person. Look at my other reviews. I’m very honest reviewer. Just wanted to add the proof that Sheron told me Free tacos or refund. I would have taken the refund if I knew she was going to be dishonest and cheat me later. Very dishonest business!
