First time at a Golden Chick and I really enjoyed the food.
Not wanting fried food the Roasted Chicken is very good. Nice flavoring and super tender. Mashed Potatoes and Gravy were fine but the Yeast Roll was great.
Even the prepackaged Brownie was good, nice and chewy.
I would come back and the staff were friendly. Location was very clean.

The Chicken was Delicious. Hot, Fresh, and seasoned just right. And the thigh was HUGE! The sides? Lacking. They weren’t horrible, but my okra was over cooked and the mashed potatoes AND the gravy were so thin that they seemed like they’d been stretched a couple times throughout the day, and the mashed and gravy were bland due to that. The sweet tea was good. Atmosphere was what you’d expect from a chain. I will give them props for how immaculately clean the line and dining room were. The entrance to the parking lot SUCKS. It’s VERY narrow. The service was good. The cashier was very friendly and food came out quick. Overall not a horrible experience, but for 3 pieces of chicken burnt fried okra and watery mashed and gravy I don’t see the value of my dollar. Probably won’t be a “regular” at $16 for a fried chicken plate when the sides are usually my favorite part and that’s what they fell short on.

Golden Chick – Shreveport, LA – 4 Stars
I stopped by Golden Chick in Shreveport, and overall, the experience was pretty decent. The food was OK, but let me tell you — the mashed potatoes and gravy were the real stars of the meal. I mean, there’s mashed potatoes… and then there’s mashed potatoes. These were so good you could eat them by themselves. Creamy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with that white gravy — it just hit the spot.
Now, the shrimp? I won’t be getting that again. It tasted like something I could buy frozen at the grocery store. Just not worth it. The wings, on the other hand, were spicy and full of flavor. I liked them, but next time I’ll skip that extra red seasoning they put on top. It was just too much for me — if you don’t like heavy spice, ask them to leave it off.
The dirty rice was a no for me. It was too wet, and the seasoning made it taste more like stuffing or dressing than rice. Not a fan. The roll was that classic sweet dinner roll you get at most chicken spots. Basic but still good.
Service-wise, I didn’t get a spoon and had to ask for a straw before I left. Nothing major, but just a heads up.
Even with a few misses, I’m giving Golden Chick 4 stars because I’ll definitely be back. I want to try more items — and I’m coming back for those mashed potatoes, that roll, and those spicy wings (minus the red dust).

I’m not sure who is leaving these reviews but this food is awful. Literally a waste of 48 dollars. I ordered an 8 piece grilled chicken, 20 shrimps, mash potatoes, and Mac and cheese.
The grilled chicken was wet for some reason which was weird. The 20 piece shrimp was unseasoned and tasted like straight up oil. I’ve never had boxed mash potatoes according to my knowledge but the mashed potatoes doesn’t tastes like real mash potatoes and the Mac and cheese is literally shell, cheese, and salt.
Very disappointed and want my money back.

Great Managers Josh at the Greenwood
Rd location ad Teresa at the Barksdale location. My first visit at the Barksdale location did not go so great but Teresa was in great communication and I visited the Greenwood location since it was closer to where I’m staying . Josh changed my opinion and they served me the freshest great tasting catfish I’ve had so far on my visit. It was perfect! Can’t wait to go back. Also the rolls are

Not the best first impression of this chain. I ordered their “Big & Golden” Chicken Sandwich. Not impressed. if this is the big one, I’d hate to see the little one. The bun was rock-hard. When I pointed it out, they offered to remake it. I should have taken them up on that offer. Instead I just asked for a new bun with sauce. I’m pretty sure that’s the reason it took so long to get. The place is neat and clean and the staff is very friendly. It’s a new location so there are probably some wrinkles to be ironed out. I’ll give them another shot next time I’m out this way.

This was my first visit to a Golden Chick and three people stood out for me. Andre’, Gail and LaNedra.
LaNedra greeted me at the door as she was going out to clean the parking lot of debris. Andre’ met me at the counter to answer my question about the menu and rang me up. Miss Gail handed me my items when they were ready and everyone was friendly and had big smiles on their faces. They made me feel welcome and appreciated and I hope you open another one in Shreveport closer to my home. This was a 20 minute drive from my home off Mansfield road but the food was great and the rolls were the surprising star of the meal. Keep up the good work!

I ordered a couple of tender combo meals and extra rolls. I did not receive the extra rolls but they are marked off the kitchen prep receipt like they were added. The tenders were tiny and were barely a bite. I would fully expect to have something more significant than this after spending 45$.

Decent overall. Forgot my salad, and the side of ranch. Food was ready when I arrived, but still had to wait to be acknowledged so I could grab it. Not bad for a quick bite in a pinch.

Honestly, today’s visit was dissapointing. Customer service just wasn’t there at all. Waited quite a while to recieve my food, wasn’t greeted at all, the order wasn’t correct, and no attempts at apologies were made even though the mistake was eventually fixed. The food was subpar at best, sloppily put together, although it was edible. I’m sorry to say I won’t be going back
Edit: the facility manager reached out to me same day to see if anything could be done to bring me back in, offering to replace the food. I had already eaten the meal, so I declined, but explained some retraining of staff may be helpful for future customers. I’m sure I will give it another try eventually, just put off from it at the moment.
