I’ve been going to Sam’s Bagels for a while, and I have to say there’s been a noticeable improvement recently. The bagels are better than they’ve been in a long time fresh, and soft on the inside. Everything tastes more consistent, and you can tell there’s care being put into it.
The new owner has also made a big difference. He’s genuinely nice, very personable, and takes the time to chat with customers. It doesn’t feel rushed or transactional — it feels welcoming. That kind of atmosphere really changes the experience. Overall, it just feels like the place has new energy, and it shows in both the food and the service.

My partner went to the effort of calling to determine if they made breakfast sandwiches on kaiser rolls, as I don’t like them on anything else. They said they did, so we ordered. When I opened my sandwich, it wasn’t a kaiser roll, but more like a hamburger bun. I’m particular about textures, so this effectively ruined my sandwich. Don’t go here for non bagel sandwiches.

I normally just order a bagel from here which is always great but today I decided to get a Chicken Cheesesteak as well. Wow. It was the worst cheesesteak of my life. Not only was the roll completely stale but there was absolutely no chicken inside. Just a few tiny pieces of chopped but chicken and peppers. It was such a sorry excuse for a sandwich that the two pieces of roll touched eachother. There was NOTHING inside. How disappointing.

Ordered a spinach and egg wrap for the first time and ended up biting down on something that was not food chipping my tooth. Not only that but my order was made wrong AND I feel like I was charged wrong cause I’m not sure how 3 bagels (one without anything on it) and the smallest most pathetic wrap (without a price listed) was over $25. Every time I come here it’s been a disappointment from wrong orders, to almost no cream cheese, or nearly naked everything bagels. Quality has always been sub par, and many menu items that they still advertise are no longer offered. Customer service is also below average, with only one gentleman being polite to you while the rest of the employees just give dirty looks and appear to be bothered by everything you say and any questions you ask.

I grew up near Manhattan and if you want a bagel like you get in the city, go here. Their tuna on a bagel is excellent and they have a wide variety of different cream cheese spreads to choose from.
