Yeah No
nowhere “safe” to set a drink while playing.
Yes, the pinball machines have cup holders, but they’re squished together making the distance rather unsafe. You would have to completely leave a drink unattended at a high top several steps away to play any of the other games.
Wanted to like it as there’s a good selection of reasonably priced games and the town needs a hangout spot like this, but the drink situation outweighs everything. Atmosphere is also sterile and unfriendly feeling.

Honestly I can’t say much for the drinks because so far I’ve been here twice and come for the “social” aspect of the games. The few staff interactions have been friendly and others I’ve been with have enjoyed the drinks. This is a rare treat of a place in Mankato and I hope to see them successful.

Great addition to Mankato! Super clean and I played pinball (Jaws, Willy Wonka, Avengers, etc.). There are 20 pinball games, some traditional video graves and a free others. Definitely a great place to hang out. Staff was nice and while I didn’t eat any of the food, the menu looked appealing.

Ok so it’s a bar arcade, you want to be able to drink and play games…… HOWEVER stickers everywhere saying don’t put your drinks on the machines…. over half the machines have nowhere to set your drink. I wanted to play ski ball but guess what nowhere to put your drink. I wanted to play ninja turtles…. Again nowhere to set a drink. EVERY MACHINE should have a place to set your drink. Otherwise the machine just won’t get played

It’s fun and I’m glad there is an adult arcade in Mankato. However FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, PLEASE TURN DOWN THE MUSIC! The last few times I have come I couldn’t stay because it was just too loud. And I’ve started not coming at all simply because the music is unbearable.

I have been here multiple times and enjoyed each time with folks. There are plenty of games to enjoy together and the giant draft drinks are cheap. If you haven’t been to an arcade in a while or ever before, this is a great spot to hang out and be social.

love the options of games but customer service was lacking. a machine took my money and was broken – i told an employee and he shrugged his shoulders. the bartender was slacking due to being mesmerized by an older man. attempted to get his attention to pay the bill several times and got a hand up to hold. great potential but lacking great service. good drinks!

Awesome to have this in Mankato, first off. Hope it can stay around!
Honest critique – Some of the games were a little too pricey, it becomes obvious quickly that high rent prices are passed on the customers. Some games were a dollar, some were a quarter. It is cool they mentioned the idea of cycling in and out different games. A lot of the joystick games were clapped out. Most arcade bars like this are a quarter/token a play regardless of the game. They do not serve food, which is ok. There weren’t a lot of places to set a drink down.
They have some things to work on.

The good: Decent selection of classic arcade games and not overly expensive to play. A dollar can go a long way if you know what to look for. Change machines are easily accessible and I counted at least two of them.
The bad: Pinball prices were all over the place and the music was incredibly loud which detracts from the overall arcade experience. I’m sure most people playing the games would also like to be able to hear them. This place could also benefit from an ATM as the games only use quarters.
The ugly: The walls are barren and sad with minimal decorations or personality and there are very few places to sit and place drinks down.
Social House Bar has the potential to be such a gem if they lean in a bit more to a classic arcade aesthetic and try to be less like Rounders but I’m happy to see an arcade come back to Mankato either way. 🙂
