We’ve ordered from Sam’s a few times and the food is always delicious! Today we came into the restaurant and the owner was so friendly and very gracious and let us sample the gumbo, which was also delicious. We will definitely keep coming back!

How in the world does this place have such a high rating. Ordered a roast beef poboy. Furthest thing from a New Orleans roast beef poboy that I have ever had. Soft bread not real French bread slightly grilled, with raw onion on it, looked like 2 thin slices of roast beef. No thanks!

today I had lunch with my manager & it was absolutely delicious. This was my first time stopping and I had no idea what I wanted to try, I was mentioning to my colleague that everything looked delicious but I was trying to stay clear of fried food when Joe assured me I could get whatever I wanted sautéed and when I tell you the shrimp and fish was to die for! He was the only person working the front, he effortlessly assisted guests walking in, he was attentive, involved & hospitable. He answered phones taking mobile orders, serving guest through the window and the front, he was still able to bring our food to the table, check in on us & make me interested in returning! Thank you so much Joe for everything, you really made my day better !

From the moment I called the day before our visit, I knew we were in for a great experience. Joe answered the phone and was so delightful—he already made me feel welcomed before we even arrived. When my mom and I came in the next day, that warm, friendly energy continued. Joe was incredibly inviting and helpful with our order, and the cook and server were just as kind, making sure we were enjoying everything.
The food was delicious! My mom had the catfish and shrimp, and I had the fried chicken liver—both meals were packed with flavor and came in generous portions. The menu is surprisingly extensive, offering lots of tasty Southern options. The restaurant was clean, and it even has a drive-thru for convenience.
We truly felt like family here. Joe mentioned they’ll be opening more locations, and I can see why—they’ve created something special. We’ll definitely be back!

Everything that we ordered was really good. The burger was so fresh, from the veggies to the meat. Even the fries were delicious. My favorite was the fried liver and gizzards YUM! Cooked perfectly Oh, and the green beans had a little bit of tang to them. So good.

As a native of New Orleans, I know where I go for things that are uniquely New Orleanian. Sam’s isn’t on that list, but when I want something specific that I love, I go for that. Sam’s has these jumbo fried shrimp on top of a big salad that I can’t get enough of. Also, the ample portion of fish is so generous and so delicious, I always want to take some home and share it with others. I haven’t tried the gumbo. A little too unorthodox for what I’m used to, given that the seafood also has chicken in it. But the price is right for a 16 oz. I stayed longer than I wanted to because the selection of entertainment on the screen was not the usual commercial-filled junk that pushes unrelenting noise into the space. It was a comedic movie that I love, played ad-free. The dining room is large and cheery and always clean. I watched a family have their fill of a meal that was so big, they took another meal home from their plates. The proprietor is warm and hospitable but not at all intrusive. He takes pride in feeding people.

Surprisingly, this place has amazing food! I ordered chicken tenders, fries, and a Philly cheesesteak—and wow, everything hit the spot. I left completely satisfied and all my cravings were fulfilled. On top of that, the customer service was excellent. I highly recommend this spot if you’re hungry and looking for a quick, delicious bite where ingredients taste fresh!

We always order from DoorDash, so can’t comment on the atmosphere. I just know that Sam’s has the best fried chicken around and the hush puppies and rolls are awesome. The prices are extremely affordable and the portions are more than filling. It has become one of our most favorite restaurants.
