Had a lovely lunch with my family today. The food was great and fairly priced. The gift shop next door is really near and the mini zoo with the kangaroo, chickens, mini horses, Llama and donkeys was REALLY neat. Enjoyed having a place as well to walk around down to the lake after eating. The whole area is a lovely lunch adventure. Already making plans to come back. The Peacock as well was a welcoming host!

The Cork room does NOT disappoint. Atmosphere- 10., Staff- 10 Food-10! Our first time and definitely not our last, was Fantastic. Delicious. Our server/bartender, Michelle, was extremely attentive, friendly, knowledgeable. She made our visit! And the coolest – the menus upon opening light up. So cool. Thank you Michelle

An Evening of Delight at the Cork Room: A Gastronomic Gem amidst Tranquility
Our arrival at the Cork Room was like stepping into a peaceful haven. The quiet hum of the lake, the charming cabins nestled amongst the trees, and the gentle breeze set the stage for an unforgettable experience. Even before entering the restaurant, the atmosphere was captivating. Unique shops and friendly animals like ponies and peacocks added to the whimsical charm.
Inside the Cork Room, the owner’s passion for art was immediately evident. Walls adorned with celebrity memorabilia and movie costumes transported us to a world of entertainment. But the true stars of the show were the hospitality and the food.

Chef Timothy’s culinary artistry shone through in every bite. The pimento cheese, a creamy delight, set the bar high. My wife, with her gluten allergies, was pleasantly surprised by the accommodating menu options. Her choice, was shrimp and grits and to her delight was fantastic. As for me, the cowboy ribeye was a revelation – perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The decadent three-layer chocolate trifle was the perfect ending to this incredible meal.

Beyond the food, the staff left an equally lasting impression. Chef Timothy’s infectious passion for cooking was evident as we chatted, making us eager to return for another culinary adventure. Our waitress, Michelle, was a gem – attentive, friendly, and effortlessly ensured a seamless dining experience.

This wasn’t just a meal; it was an experience. The 80s night, buzzing with energy and laughter, added another layer of fun to the evening.

This place, with its unique blend of tranquility, art, and culinary excellence, truly deserves its high praise.
Looking for a getaway that combines peace, nature, delicious food, and warm hospitality? The Cork Room is your one-stop shop! Come experience it for yourself – you won’t be disappointed.

Sadie was an excellent server. From the moment we arrived she was smiling and greeted us with a friendly attitude and excellent recommendations. She knew exactly what to recommend based on our wine choices. She chilled the bottle we had purchased so we could take it back to our room on ice. Her outgoing personality was the perfect fit for this eclectic style restaurant. Sadie made us feel right at home from the very first moment to our last goodbye. In the middle we enjoyed delicious wings, the best ever Candied Bacon (and we’re from the south, so we know Candied And Bacon), the pulled pork sandwich was great but the shrimp and grits was hands down the best I’ve ever had! We topped it off with delicious mixed drinks whipped up with Cape Fear’s amazing Rum and delicious Muscadine wine for dessert. The chocolate cake was decadent. Thank you Sadie for making our birthday/anniversary celebration one to remember!

Brusslesprouts entré the waitress recommended was just a bunch of charcoal on a plate because it was so burnt, no amount of parm. or bacon will fix that.

The Shrimp Po-Boy has 0 spices on the shrimp breading, tasted horrible.

Server took 15min to bring a single cup of mayo, when I was at one of the two occupied tables in the dining area.

Lastly, we got a 18% gratuity tacked on for seven people paying individually because “their system will automatically put that on the tab if they put tables together for parties of eight.”

I ate maybe 20% of my meal and the rest of my $34.93 went in their garbage disposal. It’s unbelievable.

What a hidden treasure! Shrimp and grits was amazing. While I didn’t get to have a drink, I did get a small taster of the Cabernet and the Cardinal. Both were pretty good.
The art and photos can keep you busy for a long time. Such a great collection. Absolutely will return.

Very cute restaurant. Crab dip was so good. Suggested to the waitress about serving it with celery or carrot sticks for those who don’t want to carb overload before their meal. She gracefully brought us some celery sticks out. . We had the she crab soup..yum
Sea food ravioli. It had Beautiful large size scallops and shrimp in it .
Also had the roast beef with carrots . This one I saved to take home to add a little more season too.everyone seem to really be enjoying their food and the atmosphere. They have
beautiful grounds to explore and they have lots of events happening there also. Great place to chill with friends.

Its a very beautiful place. 2 of the wines where ok. The rest just need some adjusting. Don’t try the crabcakes they are terrible. The best thing was the she crab soup that was amazing. The view is really nice. Liked being able to feed the animals. Also the shrimp and grits where really good. Service was spotty at best. Don’t go on a sunday they where out of like 20 items.

The Fried Green Tomatoes is 4 slices with sauce that smelt like Thousand Island drizzled across the top, a few salad leaves under the tomatoes, and a small cup of pimento cheese. I mixture I never would’ve thought to put together, but it was good. My only complaint with it is that for $10 I wish more than 4 slices came in the dish. However it alone was worth 4 stars

The Fettuccine & Broccoli Alfredo was so disappointing especially to come from a Chef that everyone bragged about. The noodles were stuck in a globs because of it being cooked improperly. The sauce didn’t taste homemade at all (could’ve been, but to me it didn’t taste like it). I had to go back for my chicken because it weren’t put inside my Alfredo.. and for $4 extra the amount of chicken was laughable. If I’d known that’s the small amount of chicken that comes with it then I would’ve got Alfredo only, which essentially what I ended up eating for the majority of the dish.

The girl that took my order was amazing & even though she was busy she was very attentive.

I love Alfredo so much, and barely ever eat it uptown because it’s always made incorrectly or just out of a jar. I make Alfredo sauce & spicy Cajun Alfredo sauce myself, that doesn’t make me an expert in it but it does make me wish the sauce from a Chef was way better.

Customer service was great. $17 for the gobbed together pasta noodles, $4 extra for a couple bites of chicken, & $10 for 4 slices of fried green tomatoes sadly was not worth it. If the price was cheaper for the quality I got then I’d be happy, but for that price I expect better.

Please understand I’m not saying their food was bad. & I do encourage you to go and experience it yourself as maybe it was just a bad day for him.. it’s just for me the quality of a BASIC dish was not up to par for the price.

Handicap Accessibility ♿️
It is a gravel driveway and parking lot. So if you have limited vision like my mom, and she has a bad leg.. you WILL have some issues walking to the restaurant from your car. They do have 1 parking spot for handicap that I seen & it has pavement in that spot.
