We were also treated to “the best seats in the house” by the aquarium, with 2 entertaining japanese baracuda sharks as our dinner show.
Even the other guests (regulars) here were so friendly & happy. I don’t often review but Oceans is Very Special!
The manager actually came outside and greeted us as we arrived. He explained that because of the Covid-19 pandemic, you had to show your vaccination card to eat inside but there was plenty of tables outside if you didn’t have proof of vaccination.
The menu has a good selection of things to offer. Obviously this is a seafood restaurant and there are a lot of choices. In addition they offer a variety of meat, steak, lambchops, and pasta dishes. Everything sounds delicious.
We started off with appetizers. I had the crab cakes and my friend had the steamed clams. Both were excellent and cooked perfectly. Lots of good choices for appetizers!
For the main course, I had the scallops and my friend had the Chilean Sea Bass. They were served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Everything was absolutely delicious. Unlike a lot of other restaurants, these guys focus on quality over quantity. The meal was filling but I wasn’t overstuffed. I really prefer that.
Oh, and their bread is great! It’s served with olive oil but butter is available. Very addictive!
For dessert, I had a hard time choosing but decided on the raspberry cheesecake. It was perfect. Slightly tangy raspberry sauce and perfect NY style cheesecake.
The restaurant’s ambiance was nice. The tables are close enough for cross-table conversations. The people at the adjacent tables were very nice and friendly.
The restaurant staff were great. They kept a close watch to make sure your drink was refilled or if you needed anything. They were professional but very friendly.
My friend lives very close to the restaurant and comes there often. I definitely look forward to coming back soon!
Bottom line – an excellent place to have a delicious meal. It’s a little pricey but totally worth every penny.
They bring a white board around to share the Specials. Started with the Royale salad on the board. It was a tomato salad with a Mediterranean style. Great. We ordered one for the two of us but they split it.
We had the Cajun Barramundi, also on the board. Excellent! Usually this is a whole fish but they serve it as a fillet. Great portion and perfectly spiced. On a plate of mixed veggies.
We also had the Paella. This was disappointing. It came on a bowl and not served in the iron skillet. The waiter hadn’t given this as a description so our expectation wasn’t in the right place.
The contents should have been good together but the shrimp was overcooked and the thigh chicken on the bone would have been better if it had been in pieces. The rice also had quite a bit of water in it which made it not so good. There was also a good amount muscles and some sausage. Basically it was a fish stew with rice.
We’ve been here before and we know it’s good. We will return as their is fish is fresh and we like that mostly everything is accompanied with a good portion of mixed veggies. But we won’t have the Paella! 🙂
