I did a carry out order today for the first time in a long time and I was not at all pleased. I called at 12:30pm for a carry out and I had asked the girl over the phone if their pizzas were bogo or bogo half off. When stated she believed it was bogo half off but she would verify. Which she did and everything was fine. I ordered two large pizzas and an order of cheese garlic bread so she stated the total would be $25.57 and about 25-30min. When I show up a little after 1pm I am told by the girl that took my order it will be $40.71 I said no I was told $25 something over the phone. She’s like no it’s $40.71 I said for what thinking maybe she just got the wrong order. Mind you the pizza boxes she handed me had a receipt that said $25.57 I said well this right here says $25.57 why are you telling me $40.71. She’s like oh yeah I gave you the wrong discount and total. I gave you the first responders discount see and shows me. Which it did say that but that is not my fault that you messed up. If she noticed she had told me the wrong price she should have called me back and explained and said it will actually be this much did you still want the order. It wouldn’t have been an issue if it was a dollar or two off BUT IT WAS 15 DOLLARS MORE THANK I EXPECTED. what if I didn’t have the money to pay that much or what if I brought cash and only brought that amount. The point was just common courtesy and not just expect someone to want to pay $15 more when you were expecting to pay something else. They should of honored the price since it was their mistake but nope they didn’t offer that. I was extremely frustrated with the situation. Also the pizza tasted different I am not sure if they changed the sauce or something and the cheese garlic bread hardly had cheese and was very brown and stale tasting. The whole experience was not good.

Love cecil Whittaker pizza! They always have great deals. Delivery is fast, employees are friendly, food is always amazing. They are generous with toppings and never disappoint.

Which is worse, a pizza place being out of pasta or a pizza place being out of COOKED pasta? The latter option was my experience tonight at Cecil Whittaker’s pizza on Seckman Road.

I was driving by and impulsively chose to dine in for their Chicken Parmesan pasta. It’s my favorite food and the CWP in Ellisville gave me the best of that dish I have had in years. How did the Imperial location compare? Let me walk you through my experience.

As stated in the intro, they did not have any pasta ready. As someone whose father has owned a pizza restaurant for 23 years and counting, I was shocked. See, we would make pasta before opening or during the afternoon when the orders slow down. Pasta keeps for a few days so we’d keep a couple of buckets in the fridge at a time. This is restaurant 101 stuff. This oversight on the part of CWP is absolutely embarrassing. What’s next, do they run out of pepperoni? At least then you can blame the supplier but THEY HAD THE RAW PASTA and just chose not to cook any this afternoon. Maybe they had more important things to do. The things in question? Let’s not speculate too much, but I doubt that it was productive.

Let’s continue. Since I only wanted the Chicken Parmesan I was content to wait for them to make a batch. I knew that the chicken that they use was worth waiting for. Turns out I was right! Maybe too right. Yes, the chicken was perfect, but when they brought me the plate I touched the edge and it was… cold? It felt like it had just come out of the fridge. If you are curious how it felt go ahead and put a plate in your fridge for an hour.

I was nervous when I went to take a bite, but I knew that they just made my food extra fresh so surely it will balance it out!

It did not.

The pasta was colder than room temperature. The sauce was colder than room temperature. The chicken was close to room temperature! Bravo CWP!

Who thought that it was okay to serve a plate that is cold to the touch? How are there plates that are this cold to begin with? Do they keep their plates in the fridge? They must be putting them in the fridge! Maybe they’re keeping them where the cooked pasta is supposed to go!

I brought it back and they reheated it but that doesn’t fix such a broken experience. A discount or refund might have done that, but no such thing was offered to me.

Lastly, I want to appeal to any manager who works at this store and tell you that you need to inspect your dishwasher because that aforementioned plate had streaks and smears from whoever last used it. Either that or the employees are taking an “it’ll come off in the wash” approach to rinsing dishes. I wish that I would have taken a picture but my brain was too distracted by my 45 degree meal to think of that.

TL;DR
It is unfortunate that such a wonderful entree has to live at such a pathetic restaurant. I would have been better off ordering to-go and cooking it in my own oven at home. At least the to-go container would have been clean. If this is the kind of experience that my dad’s restaurant provided, that 23 years would have lasted closer to 23 days. This CWP is an embarrassment to not only the chain, but pizza restaurants everywhere.

Did online ordering for delivery at 3:38 pm 12-12-25 received a text shortly after from doordash stating my order was transferred to them and arriving at 5:30? I called the store at 4:30 and asked the employee answering phones what that was about and if my food was going to be delivered soon, was told the driver was in fact on his way and should be there shortly and it was not doordash it was their own delivery drivers. At 5pm another text saying driver picked up my order and it was on the way. Called store again and was lied too again. Employee said no it was employee driver and order just got done and be delivered soon. When the driver arrived I asked if he worked for doordash or Cecil’s he stated he worked for doordash. Order was wrong and cold. Never again.

There service has dropped dramatically. Multiple times we have ordered for pick up and our order is wrong. One time we got someone else’s order and they told us to call them to swap orders. The other time we got a pizza with very little toppings, called and spoke with manager, he said I could get a pizza free next time I ordered. So I called about a month later to get my free pizza and they said there was nothing in there saying I had a free pizza. I will not order from them anymore. Not sure if there is new ownership or what. Would rather spend more money at imos. At least my order will be correct. So sad because we have always loved cecil whitakers.

We used to love the Imperial Cecil’s, they had the best wings of any Cecil’s I had before. The past few times they have been dry and really skimpy on sauce. This time I asked for extra sauce and it was no better. They used to come swimming in sauce. The pizzas are very dry too, I guess you need to ask for extra sauce on that. When delivered the cheese was slid all to one side. It was a half an hour late too.

This location is very inconsistent in the quantity of toppings and they follow directions like toddlers. Please work on making each pie the same and learn what well done means. Especially on deluxe and meat pizza.

This pizzeria is close to home and convenient however, every time I order there is a problem. I wait a while and talk myself into ordering again and it is another disaster. Food tastes like cardboard, missing or wrong items, the lists goes on. With so few options it in the area it would be nice to have somewhere reliable. I hope things can improve.
