I’m tend to be a creature of habit and tend to frequent certain places. The place I wanted to go was closed . So off to Google I went. I saw this restaurant. I would’ve never known it was there. The staff were very friendly and had great personality. As far as the food I ordered the sampler platter. Which said 3 ribs, hash and rice plus pulled pork. It also had a roll green beans and Mac and Cheese. I wasn’t expecting the last items. Zero seasonings was needed. Which comes my next statement. I’d have to say this is perfect soul food I’m my opinion. I also opted for the fried okra. Everything was wonderful!

If you are looking for some good BBQ in Manning look no further! Definitely worth the drive if you are not a local. The bbq is mouthwatering; the sauce to mear combo is spot on and when on a sandwich it does not make the buns soggy and keeps the meat moist and delicious. The ribs are delicious, corn nuggets were on point, the fried okra was just like grandma’s kitchen. If I had tonmake a guess, I’d venture to say everything else on the menu is just as good. We were greeted with a smile and polite service and the food came out hot and fresh without a long wait. Highly recommend!

Gorge pork sampler, smoked chicken, pulled pork sandwich, fried okra, and the aforementioned sweet potato fries. Must try side. Our table judged them the best we’d ever had. Crispy, sweet and salty.
BBQ sauce was tangy. Meat well cooked. Interior atmosphere down to earth and friendly and clean. Staff was friendly. Food arrived fast.
Will definitely come again.

I was trying this spot for my second time and I would have to say that the food was OK, mostly very mid. Ribs had a lot of fat on them,some smoke flavor and a little dry.. Chicken had no smoke flavor, Mac and cheese noodles were mushy and over cooked,wings good,onion rings and waffle fries was spot on….

Place was clean neat. Service was with a beautiful smile. Food was very good. I would say that the only thing was the Mac N Cheese wasn’t up to the temperature I like but it tasted good. Prices are to me reasonable. I have gone there several times and always got treated with a smile.. Keep up the good work.. Here’s some pictures too..

the best bbq we’ve ever had!! we just stopped through town for the night, and wow we’re so glad we stopped by JK’s for dinner! We each got the rib platter sampler plates (ribs, pulled pork, green beans, Mac and cheese, and hash and rice) and it was truly phenomenal. I’m particular, the ribs and hash with rice were stop-you-in-your-tracks good!! Also, as a bonus, they were so reasonably priced it felt like a steal for the price to quality and quantity ratio.

The pulled pork barbecue is actually smoked unlike some barbecue places. The sides are also delicious and taste homemade. My husband loved his hamburger and onion rings. Everything was delicious. The only change I would make is adding barbecue sauce to the table. I would’ve liked to add some more sauce to my sandwich but did not have the option.

This place is super hole-in-the-wall, in a good way. It’s practically in a shack behind some houses, but it leads to a vibe of just hanging out with your neighbor who has the grandma that cooks. I got the sample platter, and I think it was only like $14 or so. The green beans were actually nice and had flavor for once, but the mac and cheese was a little “sus” in my opinion. Now I like bizarre things in my mac, but someone put a whole bottle of mustard in there it seemed like. First time I heard of SC hash rice, it’s like dirty rice but with brisket. The hash wasn’t really my thing, but if you enjoy stuff like red beans n rice you will probably love it. The ribs were the best part, they were COVERED in a spicy mustard sauce and were very tender/moist. Side notes: the portions are freaking huge, the cashier is very polite and they have 80s sitcoms playing.

Last Friday evening my husband & I pulled in around 7pm they just closed we had a nice conversation with the owner he’s a great guy so open & friendly. We just moved to Santee from Upstate NewYork a couple months ago we hadn’t ate here yet. We told him we’d be back & we were the next day. We ordered the Sample Plate and 6 chicken wings. I must say it was the best barbecue we’ve had! The ribs were fall off the bone tender with the best barbecue sauce! The pulled pork was perfectly cooked. Normally I dont care for hash over rice I’ve had it a few times, until JKs it’s amazing the best I’ve had! The chicken wings were perfectly cooked with a golden sauce. Manning is lucky to have JKs delicious delicious delicious!!
