The building is under construction as of writing this on the exterior. But the food here is fantastic. The waitress was a sweetheart, the iced tea was fantastic. Great place to grab a REAL bite to eat for truckers as truck stops with a traditional diner are a dying breed.

My price paid is skewed because I ordered their steak but their prices average around 20ish$

The host was awful! Eye rolling is something my teenagers don’t even do so maybe a tad bit more maturity would be appreciated. If you don’t want to seat us that’s fine just say so and we’ll gladly walk out! Our waitress was AMAZING! She made up for the awful host. The pickles are so good. The buffalo chicken sandwich was amazing and the kids liked the shakes. I don’t recommend the root beer because it’s very watered down. The history In that place is awesome. Each table is creative. Overall it was decent but when we got the bill it was definitely a bit more pricier than what I was expecting.

Pretty good food. Took a little bit to get our food. Our waitress was pleasant and refilled our drinks when needed. Very neat decorations inside. Older country music definitely set the vibe of the place.

Very good food. Blackened Cajun fish over rice is spectacular. Very flakey white fish that melts in your mouth. Collard greens excellent. However corn bread is unimpressive. Great service, nice ladies. Even serves domestic beer.

Great stop when you are on a road trip with kids. There is a wonderful gift store. It’s also really interesting and different than the normal food stop. Pecan cheesecake was really good.

It’s worth looking through all the pictures. Each table is different with toys and other things to make it very unique.

The French fries were really good and crunchy.

If your traveling on 10, you should stop and grab a bite from this amazing place. Good food, service was so, so had to find a employee to pay check. But other than that great place, also convenience store has a little bit of everything!

Service was good, neat decorations, food was ok, but not great. BBQ sauce had WAY too much artificial smoke flavoring, tasted burnt. Red peppers in the corn?! Mashed potatoes were good but cold. But the thing that saved this place from the 1 star category was the pecan pie cheesecake! It made up for the mediocre main meal. Amazing dessert!!! If I stop again I’ll skip the main dish and just order the cheesecake!!

I’ve seen this place from the original dark foreboding truckstop cafe to the completely renovated inside and out that it now is. The chili, hobo baskets, and liver with onions are my faves. But I come home to find a two page monstrosity of a menu. I know what all the burgers have and what every plate has with it but Joe Smo from Kansas won’t have a clue what a whistle stop sandwich is. My liver and onions has been discontinued which makes me a wee tad disappointed. I think hiring a good host and bringing back menus with pictures and descriptions would be a substantial benefit to patrons, new comers and the staff.

The name of the restaurant is actually “The Derailed Diner”. We’ve eaten there many times and only once we had a not so good experience. Great place to eat, I highly recommend it.
