Social Profile:

GURU THE CATERER has embarked on a new mission: Promote joy, flavor and nutrition through fresh, healthy and delicious food. At Guru the Caterer, food is cooked fresh in small batches every day. This keeps every day’s menu fresh and also fits with our belief of avoiding needless wastage, even at the risk of some dishes running out before the close of business. We approach each day’s menu like we are cooking for our family, but on a larger scale. The love we pour into making our food is readily apparent and cherished by all of our customers, many of whom return multiple times every week.

Our favorite Indian restaurant. We’ve been customers for over 20 years and the quality and flavor are always great. You have to enjoy heat in your food as they are not like many places where spice level is often disappointing. They have a couple of tables, but we have always ordered take out.

This Indian food was good . The mango Lassi was absolutely delicious. The friendliest people serving the food . I met them at the “ Copley Farmers Market “. Parking ️ you have the option of looking for meter parking or parking in the garage which is less than 1/2 block and is a reasonable price . The price of the food is good for the quality and portion size .

Had guru at the Boston Public Library farmers market. I know food prices are getting higher, but I feel like for just a few dollars more, you can gorge at a buffet somewhere. The pakora looked phenomenal but cannot be chosen as a side, which is disappointing. They definitely save money by using tripartite containers and loading basmati rice onto the biggest section. I would definitely consider using them for catering but I also know that Indian grub isn’t for everyone. The Farmer’s market is in a great spot. You can just eat at the sidewall of the BPS and talk to people. It’s a good experience on a nice day and even more so if you’re from out of town. As an aside, I don’t know why the only two hot food offerings are Indian at the farmer’s market. The samosas at the other joint looked like a must try.
Update: Visited the location near downtown. It’s not bad but definitely a notch below my favorite Indian joints. Good option when you’re on the run.

I just ordered the Kesari Kheer, Samosa, and Meat Combo. My first bite was the Kesari Kheer, and it’s already spoiled. It tastes extremely bitter and has a fishy smell. It seems like it could actually make someone sick. I’m really wondering if they even taste this before selling it to customers.”

I ordered takeout of the meat combo (goat curry with side of mixed veggie curry). It came with two pieces of roti and rice and chutney, and was all very delicious! It’s a cute little place serving good Indian food.

Easily the best Indian takeout in the area. Friendly staff, generous portions, wonderful flavors, and absolutely destroys every other Indian place on price. The combo with curry, rice, a vegetable side, and two pieces of roti is less than most places charge for just a curry!
Curry selection is comparatively limited, but don’t let that deter you. I promise the pure flavor will make that a non-issue.

Tastes splendid. Probably some of the best Indian food I’ve had in the Boston area. I recommend the chicken tikka masala with pickled potatoes. They cater every Tuesday and Friday in the farmers market at Copley which is when I get my “weekly fix”

I eat here twice a week. The people are amazing, the food is great, I can’t recommend this enough. It’s the first place I’ve found in Boston that spices things correctly. If you’re thinking of getting Indian get this one

Guru the Caterer has always been my first love when it comes to local Indian food. They’re no fuss, use authentic spices, and I appreciate the open kitchen that I can peek into and watch in awe. I also love that they’ll make my food *actually* spicy.
Featured here are Palak Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala (only cuz the coconut curry was 86’d) and Veggie Pakoras. So good on a cold day.

Sidenote, the green sauce was DELIGHTFUL and had some kick to it which was appreciated.

This is the best Indian restaurant in Boston. We love to get takeout from here, specifically the chicken tikka masala and the chicken biryani. The daal is good too. But really it’s all about the chicken pakoras. They are seriously amazing and are better than any fried chicken!
