Good food! Different and authentic afghan flavors- seriously some of the best since I was there. Ambiance a little bright but nice little bar with great happy hour! I would call it “The Afghani” and put some curtains up and dim lights 😉 but flavors – chef kiss!!!!

I’m currently a guest at the Marriott across the street. My daughter is a student at Hopkins and I’m visiting her for a couple weeks. The attendant at the hotel suggested it when I asked what was good because I was hungry. The restaurant was beautiful. I placed an order to go … the gentleman couldn’t tell me what ingredients was in the food. He barely spoke English. I asked him was it nuts in anything he couldn’t answer. I asked was the desserts popular , he just looked at me. lol
I ordered the chicken and rice with the carrots and glazed raisins. I also ordered the hummus. I barely had any hummus in my bowl and it cost 10.00
The raisins and carrots were good but the rice and chicken was hard- overcooked or perhaps it was old and been sitting all day. I may call and complain because I spent 40.00 for just me. I wanted to support but that decision turned into me going to bed hungry because the rice and chicken was so chewy/boarder line hard.

Update: I called and I was told the manger wasn’t there and the person was very dismissive! That’s a shame!!!!!

I had dinner here with my father here and we tried Afghan food for the first time—it was absolutely delicious and full of flavor! Loved the spinach sabzy and the cauliflower and chickpea entrées. The naan is unique, more like a soft bread, served with butter, and pairs perfectly with the dishes.

The restaurant gets very busy during lunchtime, especially around noon, but the staff remains attentive and makes an effort to ask about allergies. The portion sizes are shareable, and the quality of food is excellent for the price. They also offer great vegetarian options.

Overall, a wonderful dining experience—I’ll definitely be back!

I drive 2 hours from VA to visit this place. This is one of the best place in town, the food quality 100% plus.
Thank you for very nice service and hospitality.

Food was very very good, I called for a pick up order and it was ready in 15 minutes. Chicken kebab and beef seek kebab with Pallaw very fresh and flavorful.
I’m not a fan of turnips, but overall the sautéed seasonal vegetable mix was very good! Sweet staff at front desk, and prices very affordable!

Really glad to have a place nearby that serves actual fresh, healthy food instead of the greasy fast-food choices in the immediate area. They give great portion sizes too. The staff are friendly and easygoing, and the vibe is kind of a mix between casual and classy. I go here all the time.

We’ve visited twice and enjoyed it both times. They are conveniently located near Johns Hopkins and there is a parking garage nearby.
The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, service was friendly and the variety of food choices has made it fun to try new dishes. Prices are reasonable too.

Nice food still. I am biased as I’ve been visiting multiple times once in a while. I like the sweetness of the turnips cooked in spices and raisins. The lamb is very soft. The mint sauce is a must try, if you like mint. It can go with the rice, the meat, or the soup.

First time there. Went around 1:45 on a Friday, place was empty. I was ordering takeout. Very surprised by the ambiance of the interior as it was totally unexpected based on the exterior. The traffic on Wolfe street seems to hide this neighborhood gem. The hostess was super nice & explained the menu as I’d never eaten Afghan food before. Ordered the beef kabob meal. Food was good. & wait wasn’t long. Price is average. Would like to stroll back over & dine in so I can get the full experience & explore the menu more. Yes I’d recommend.
