THE APRE-SKI SPOT TO BE

Coolest dive bar i’ve been to in awhile! So cozy. GREAT music!!! Loved all the unique decor as the lights and ceiling

Food is cheap and ok, so are the drinks! Staff is super nice! Bathrooms were very clean and spacious!

Highly recommend DBAGS

Jason and Mel have really turned this place around! The bar food menu is delightful! Every server is knowledgeable and pleasant. The cooks are responsive and consistent. The drinks are reasonable. This is a great go to for locals and visitors alike.

Great local place for apres ski – everyone was super friendly, really good beer selection, and food was better than expected. We will make it a regular stop when we ski at Mt Snow.

Some of the rudest, most disrespectful servers I’ve ever encountered hostile from the second we walked in. On top of that, they attempted to scam us by withholding our receipt so we couldn’t leave a tip. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

UPDATE RESPONSE: We did, in fact, leave a tip and provided all of our IDs without hesitation. If you have any doubts, I’m more than happy to show the receipt. We’ve all worked in the service industry perhaps take a moment to check yourself.

WOW! I don’t even know where to start! The second we walked into the door me and my wife were looked at with googly eyes by the bouncer who was too busy cursing out kids with fake IDs! We walked in took a seat and waited for over 10 minutes to even be acknowledged. Sports were being shown and the man behind me made comments about the skin color of the athletes in a very derogatory manner. When I reported how uncomfortable my wife was to the tender they said well take care of it and left. Not 5 minutes later the same man and friends started making monkey noises and finally when my wife (African American) turned around and said something they laughed and cursed us out of the bar. The staff had smug smiles on their faces as we closed our tab and one even said “Neck Hurt” as we walked out. If you are unaware of what that means say it fast a couple times over… For a state and community that is usually so open minded and respectful I am appalled the way we were treated!

Unfortunately, my experience at Dover Bar and Grill was extremely disappointing due to the incredibly rude and unprofessional behavior of the bartender on duty (her name was Dee—dark brown hair pulled back in a bun).

From the start, she created an unwelcoming atmosphere by harshly telling one of my friends they couldn’t bring in their water bottle—something I’ve never had an issue with at other bars. When I asked about the cider options, she responded with a negative, dismissive attitude that made me feel uncomfortable just for asking a simple question.

The tipping point came when we closed out our tab. I chose not to leave a tip because of the poor service and her treatment of our group. Instead of handling it professionally, she caused a scene by loudly and passive-aggressively walking back and forth, repeating, “I don’t serve drinks to people who don’t tip me!!” When we asked if she was referring to us, she snapped, “Yes, YOU!! We work off tips!!” This completely soured our night and made it impossible to enjoy the rest of our time there.

We were ready to continue ordering drinks and supporting the business, but her behavior made us feel disrespected and unwelcome.

To make matters worse, one of my friends ordered a burger that was bland, overcooked, and pretty much tasteless. The fries were okay, but definitely not enough to make up for the rest of the experience.

Also worth noting: there’s a $15 minimum for debit and credit cards, which isn’t posted very clearly.

We’re locals and had hoped to find a new go-to spot—but after this experience, we won’t be returning. I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this one was well-earned. Hopefully management takes notice and makes some changes. A bartender’s attitude can truly make or break a customer’s experience, and unfortunately, Dee’s behavior ruined ours.

The food was great, I enjoyed the atmosphere, but one of the bartenders (blue hair) was extremely hostile about the tip. The bill came out to about 80 dollars for food and drink, when I got in I left her 8 dollars cash when I ordered my first drink, and then I left her 10 dollars on check by my calculation that’s 22.5%. She aggressively approached me upon seeing the check and rudely confronted me in-front of my friends and family. It was a very uncomfortable situation, I tried to reason with her telling her I left cash but she kept pressing for more tip. I put another 10 dollars on the tip to end the uncomfortable situation since we were just out to have a good time on a nice vacation. She got 35% but my friend group, all 12 of us will never be going back when we visit Vermont again.
