The food came out incredibly fast. We were told it would take about ten minutes, but it felt closer to five. As someone who loves seafood boils and has tried many, I can honestly say this was one of the best experiences I’ve had. Seafood boils are often overpriced and underwhelming, but the quality and price here were outstanding. We could barely finish our meal because the portions were so generous.
The owner was incredibly kind and even shared that her daughter drew the heartbreak symbol next to the sign, which made the experience feel even more personal. If we lived in the area, we would eat here regularly. I only wish there were more Crabbers locations in Central Florida.
Neither time I was here did they give me a bib. On the second visit, I noticed some other tables got bibs so I asked my waiter about it. He told me that if you order crab, you get a bib. I found that odd since other items like shrimp and crawfish should allow you to get a bib too without having to ask.
They have a big promotion on their door for BOGO (buy one get one free) — but once I got inside, I found out that it does not apply to crawfish.
Not sure I would come here again.
I have driven past Crabbers several times while visiting Sarasota, and every single time, I told myself, “I HAVE to try that place.” It was absolutely worth finally stopping!
The seafood boil was incredible—fresh, perfectly cooked, and the Crabbers special sauce was out of this world.
Beyond the food, the service truly elevated the experience. Our server, Vica, was a total superstar. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, fast and knowledgeable making sure we had everything we needed and making great recommendations.
If you are a local or just passing through Sarasota, Crabbers is a must-try, and I highly recommend asking to be seated in Vica’s section. We will absolutely be back whenever we visit Sarasota again!!
I was pleasantly surprised by the “buy one combo, get one half off” deal—it was a great value. It also allowed us to choose our own spice levels for the snow crab, shrimp, and sausage, which was a nice touch.
The only downside was that one of our plates came out about five minutes before the other, which led to some awkward waiting. It would’ve been better if they had brought both at the same time.
That aside, it was a great experience overall. The food was flavorful and well-prepared, and I’d definitely recommend checking out Crabbers if you’re in the mood for a tasty seafood boil.
The food was just OK, a little overcooked, but it was so messy and it wasn’t until we were 90% of the way done with our meal that we realized there were food service gloves in a decorated box on the table that we could’ve been using. Would have been nice if the waiter had pointed that out to us.
The food was not served with anything more than a fork, no knife, no seafood, fork, and only one set of crab crackers for the whole table. We each ordered a different kind of crab boil, which came in a plastic bag and it was swimming in water and butter and grease and was so difficult to get into or dump into the tray to be able to eat it. We both ended up with grease stains on our clothes.
We had ordered an appetizer first and was very specific that we wanted that before the boil and literally they came out at the same time. And when we said something to the waiter, he says yeah, my bad basically. The waiter knew this was our first visit ever and there was so much information that could’ve been conveyed to us as first time patrons but they missed the mark there.
I did also ask for the crabber sauce on the side and they charged me $1.50 for that, which came out in a 3 ounce plastic condiment cup.
We asked for wipes at the end because we were so messy in our hands were so greasy, and the waiter went to the back and brought out a package of baby wipes.
We summed up our visit as, we can say we’ve been here, but we are one and done.
