This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a company. The drivers are careless with trailers: lights are often broken, trailers are scratched and damaged, and they mix up seal numbers. The only positive is the polite security staff and the Love’s truck stop half a mile away. Everything else left a negative impression.

Aside from them taking a very long time to get my trailer loaded, I had no issues here. There was plenty of room to maneuver in the empties lot that you will drop your trailer. I’m not sure which trailer it came off of, or who did it, but there was a shattered trailer light on the ground where I dropped mine. There is someone in there tearing stuff up, but like I said, have no idea who did it. As soon as you arrive in Schuyler, go drop your trailer and check in with Cargill at the guard shack. This way, you can get a whole 34 in if they take a long time to load your trailer. They did a good job loading mine. The weight was OK on both axles.

The women at the gate are horrible. The Spanish girl never gets off of the phone, and they tell you absolutely nothing except the trailer number! I walked around in the snow for an hour trying to find it. They say they use only chep pallets, and they don’t! This was a 2000 mile run that just got refused because of the cheap plywood pallets they used instead of what they claimed to have used! This place is beyond ridiculous!!!

We deal with this crap hole too much but in this particular incident, I show up at noon on Saturday 9/7/24 and see that my trailer is loaded but I have to leave the premises because the paperwork isn’t ready. Mind you, the load is due at Costco in Morris IL at 5am the following day so plenty of time. 7.5 hr run. Fast forward to Sunday morning 9/8 at 3:50am I get a call that my load is ready. They claim they were waiting on the usda to release the product. I get to the plant to find that my trailer was parked in a different spot than where it was the previous day. I go to back under it and have to stop and get out because it’s too high. When I get to the trailer I see that at some point the shag truck had backed under it off to the side and got hung up and broke the first three cross members behind the kingpin plate. This place is and always has been a joke for as long as I can remember. Let me add, the guard shack staff is great. They are kind and patient and they deal with a lot of crap. This isn’t their fault for the delay or the damage. They get 5 stars. Shan and Promise are top notch!

This places takes forever to check you in , don’t understand how or why but it seems every part of the day it is like this just to check in and whenever it’s time to check out , you still have to wait a long time . I don’t recommend this location.

Was told our load might be ready at 2200, but they have a grace period until 0400. Called from 0300-0400, no answer. Husband calls once, and they answer at 0415, loads ready. Yay! Get to the trailer and had to get yard dog to pull it out of the spot because there’s maybe 3-5 inches between trailers on both sides. Yard dog pulls my trailer out and hits the trailer next to my trailer. My trailer has no damage, but other trailer does. He just shrugs his shoulders oh well. Go to hook up my trailer and looky here, the doors are not latched properly (which I read in the reviews this happens A LOT!). Go to guard shack and let them know about my doors on the trailer AND the trailer the yard dog hit. They said they’ll get my trailer in a dock (it’ll be a while before my paperwork is ready) and the other trailer they’ll e-mail the office about. Check your trailers drivers!!!

Never, never can Cargill load you on time. Be prepared to lose a lot of time. That company has issues with management, I guess. During the last 3 years, I couldn’t get my trailer on time. Always delayed! Even today I got a local load just for 90 miles, but with Cargill, I lost 2 days. ♂️

Appt was scheduled btwn 9/15 to 9/17 for a drop and hook. I called on 9/15 to check on my load and it was ready. I got to location and checked in. The gentlemen at guard booth were really nice. My load was ready as told. You don’t need to wash trailer out as i did, they wash them onsite. The bay is right off to the right hand side once you pass guard booth. I was in and out in less than 45 mins. Thank you Cargill!!

No Overnight Parking, Loves a mile away.
This place is also called “EXCEL CORP”
MAKE SURE TO HAVE 3/4 OR MORE REEFER FUEL WHEN DROPPING EMPTY!
When I arrived and checked in with the guard shack they explained the process here. To the right of guard shack in the corner is the wash bay, you will open your trailer doors, slide tandems to rear, back into wash bay, dolly down, disconnect from trailer, and leave your trailer there. If the wash bay has no spots available you will drop your empty in the dirt lot, you can ask or call them to locate dirt lot.
To the left of guard shack is the first row of loaded trailers, and that’s where I found my loaded trailer. Hooked up to my trailer, went back to guard shack for my bills, signed for my bills, I was out.
Easy in and out process here.
