I have been on the hunt for the best fish and chips for about 6 months. I decided to do something a lil different. Fish and chowder. Clam chowder is the absolute star of show. Freakin amazing! The fish was not the old English pub style that I was expecting but it was really delicious and not overly battered. Exceptional service. Definitely worth the drive.

I originally come from the south eastern coastline and grew up eating fish. This place is a bit like home in the following ways…..
Not over cooked . This is especially important when it come to scallops, shrimp and fish. Plus, it’s light on the batter, the coleslaw , chips , and the clam chowder are equally delicious. Though considered a food cart , the food is anything but ‘food cart’.
This is a restaurant quality fish & chips. It’s not inexpensive, but what you get what you pay for, and it’s worth it.
The proprietors and family members are super people.

Great food and great family. The fish has a light batter, which is great. You don’t get that greasy feeling after eating here. Their chowder is the best I have ever had and I’ve had a lot of different chowder.

The fish was fresh and perfectly fried, absolutely loved their homemade clam chowder (which didn’t skimp on the clams!) From the truck itself to even quality of the utensils and to-go boxes, it’s obvious the owners really put a lot of heart into everything. Will definitely be coming back!

Their fish is excellent! A lot of places use too thick of batter or make it too oily. Not so with SlackTide. They have a very nice light batter and offer consistently high-quality fish, which can be hard to come by.
Highly recommend their chowder as well!
Also, if you’re gluten intolerant, this is the place for you!

Okay, this was the best clam chowder I’ve ever had. This blows Moe’s out of the water. I tried the fish and chips and some chowder. Fish was tender and juicy. The batter was light which I love over the thick batter that holds so much grease. The fries were perfect; tender on the inside with a nice skin on the outside. The chowder was so dang good. I‘m not a fan of coleslaw but this was actually super good. It had a lightly sweet, Dijon mustard sauce that was unlike other stuff I’ve had before. I’m also that guy who judges the place by their sauces. The ranch and tartar sauce were fantastic too. Portions were more than you normally get at a food cart. My only issue is to make sure I get here sooner for a bread bowl with the chowder next time. We will be back for sure! Hope this place opens more carts and/or a brick and mortar location.

Love this new addition to our little food cart court. I had the scallops and clam chowder. Hubby had the fish and chips. Both meals were amazing. I am not a fan of NE clam chowder, but this one is really good. Big chunks of tender clams, light cream sauce with a bit of spice and not too many potatoes. Scallops were very tender. Hubby not a big fish fan, but said the fish and chips were great! He generously gave me his slaw, as I did not get one, it was wonderful. Slaw is a definite for me next time.

Fantastic, fresh and delicious fish and chips. With actual “chips”! Stopped by with coworkers and we all enjoyed our food. I had the ling cod (special of the day), but there were also rave reviews for the albacore, the chicken, and the chowder. Tartar sauce was great, slaw was standard but tasty. But we all raved about the chips- sometimes it’s the small things!

I hesitate to leave this review lest everyone descend on this hidden gem. We ordered the halibut and chowder, cod and chips, and cod + scallops and chips. All of the fish tasted so fresh and we loved the light cornmeal-style breading. The tartar sauce was fantastic. The chowder is among the best we’ve ever had at a restaurant, let alone a food cart! The scallops were cooked perfectly with a very light breading. Plus, the owners were so friendly. It doesn’t get much better than this.
