I am always on the hunt for a good plate lunch or bento box, so I had to give Tokyo Grill a try. The salad and dressing were quite good, but it would’ve been nice if (a) the lettuce hadn’t had some browning edges on some of it (not appetizing), and (b) their serving platters had some separation between the meat/teriyaki juices and the salad dressing (just a personal preference, not a big deal).
Tried the combo chicken/beef teriyaki. Very good teriyaki sauce, and quite tender and tasty chicken with very little fat – nice! However, the beef… in a word, tough. Not tender at all, quite chewy and almost inedible. I was there late afternoon, not during a “meal” hour, but there were plenty of people coming in for to-go orders while I was there. Honestly not sure if the meat was pre-cooked and then over-cooked by re-heating, or if it was simply cooked far too much, leaving it tough and leathery.
That being said, I would definitely come by again for the chicken, but would definitely skip the beef next time.

This is the best teriyaki eatery in all of Washington and Oregon. No, really. I’m a critic and have visited dozens. This is #1! In fact, the chicken teriyaki here is the best food I’ve ever had in my entire life. You have to go get some and now! 🙂

I’ve traveled all across the world. Lived abroad in Europe. I’m not exaggerating when I say Tokyo Grill is my single favorite food in the entire world. We always get excited about getting the chance to come here whenever we come to Portland. It’s simple food, but they’ve somehow found the perfect formula; every bite is incredible. I’d take it over a Michelin Star restaurant every day. Plus, the old Asian couple that runs the restaurant is really sweet and warm.
It’s a no-frills dining experience (we usually get takeout), and largely undiscovered; just a little place in the corner of a small unassuming business plaza parking lot. But if you’re looking for simple styrofoam-box Asian food that will change your life forever, I can’t recommend this place enough.

This is legit one of the best teriyaki spots in the Portland area! The chicken is always cooked to perfection. A little charred but super tender and delicious… exactly as it should be. Most of the competition is dry in comparison. The staff is always sincerely friendly and I leave with a smile every time. Highly recommended!! I just wish they were open on the weekends

This has been my favorite teriyaki place for a few years now. The teriyaki chicken and rice, the yakisoba, even the salad that comes with some items — it’s just always consistently really, really great food. If they were open on the weekends, I’d eat there every week. It’s well-worth the drive from the city.

So delicious, loved the freshly cooked teriyaki chicken and the side salad. Generous portions and cooked to order. Also very friendly service – would be coming here all the time if I lived more nearby!

Nothing special. You can’t even get a glass of water. You have to buy it.
The prices have gone up considerably since that photo was taken that you see when the restaurant first comes up
They’re almost double what is seen when viewing the menu on google. See photo. Very expensive for what you get

First time trying Tokyo Grill and I loved it! I ordered the spicy teriyaki for pickup and it was ready in about 10 minutes. The owners are very friendly and deserve your support. I don’t always get teriyaki bowl, but when I do, it will be at Tokyo Grill.

Lady taking orders is not very friendly. I ordered gyoza and they don’t have dipping sauce, she said to use soy sauce, so I asked for a small container to put it she handed be a packet of soy sauce, I asked for a couple more since I had 5 gyoza, she said they charge for more. Teriyaki sauce is diluted down to a point its watery and just goes to the bottom of the tray not on your food.
I would not recommend them and I won’t go back.
I will ad that the chicken tasted good.

I’ve been going to this restaurant since 2006. It has never let me down. Friendliest customer service. And just the most FANTASTIC bentos. My go to is the spicy pork bento with either rice or yakisoba (depending on my mood). But oddly enough my favorite thing is their dressing for their salad. I order extra EVERY time!
