King Tut’s exceeded all our expectations. We had been following their page on Instagram for months and finally made the trip to try Egyptian food for the first time.
We arrived for breakfast and we had some incredible Egyptian Coffee. We learned about the traditional way of preparing with heated sand on a flattop which was so cool to watch.
The main event was the Shakshuka! We ordered both the burrito and casserole with pita. Delicious isn’t even the word. We both devoured the dishes with smiles the whole time. We also tried the Moroccan merguez. So yummy!
Before we left, we had to grab a couple cups of coffee to go and two pieces of Baklava.
We are already planning to come back tomorrow for lunch! If you want to try amazing food prepared by the nicest people, add King Tut’s to your list.

This is the first restaurant that’s truly blown me away in a long time. The food was FANTASTIC. The mint lemonade is an absolute must. It’s refreshing, perfectly balanced, and memorable.
What really sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. They went above and beyond to customize an order for us, and then surprised us by bringing out extra meat for the dog we’re fostering. That level of kindness and care is rare and deeply appreciated.
Incredible food, genuine warmth, and thoughtful service – this place deserves all the praise.

Stopped here for Breakfast. The Shashouka casserole was amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed the cup of Egyptian coffee.
Can’t wait to come back for lunch and try the Falafel Waffle – a dish that Guy Fieri sampled on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives.

Best falafel in town! The falafel plate does not disappoint. Everything tasted so fresh and it was a beautiful presentation of veg and sauce on top. The flavors were great and it was a hefty portion though I couldn’t stop myself from eating every bite. Also got a green juice drink that was delicious and refreshing. It’s a permanent food truck location with a really great adjacent covered patio with several tables. Will definitely be back!!

This place was incredible. I got the harissa chicken was delicious! The chicken was packed with flavor and cooked well. Everything that accompanied the food the enhanced the flavor of the dish. I also ordered the mint lemonade which is one of the best drinks I’ve had. The owner is super nice and everyone should eat here! I’ll definitely be back!

We almost didn’t stop when we saw the little spot where King Tut’s is located, but I’m so glad we did. At first glance, it’s a little questionable. Up close, it’s adorable. We sat on the porch, and it was very comfy and pleasant. Service was great, and the food rocked my socks off. Fresh, beautiful, and so, so delicious. If we were locals, this would be a regular spot for us.

I was not expecting the amount of flavor packed into these dishes. The chicken/lamb was tender, the falafel was flavorful and the hummus was creamy and delicious. The patio seating is definitely a vibe and we enjoyed the experience more than we thought we would.
Pack your patience because more than likely there will be a bit of a wait.

After many recommendations from friends, I finally made it to King Tut’s yesterday (3/19/24), I had a gyro, something I always enjoy when it’s done right, and this gyro was on the mark. The pita was soft and of a good quality. The meat was tender and flavorful, cut into chunks, and not typical shaved gyro meat. I also really appreciated the mixture of toppings, especially the pickled onions; not a traditional Greek gyro topping, but this is not Greek, it’s Egyptian, and it was certainly delicious. At King Tut’s, you order your food at a food truck, but you have the option of eating in a spacious, covered outdoor dining area, or in a smaller dining area on the inside of the main restaurant. The place is clean and the service was friendly. I’ll be back to try the other main dishes.

I’ve been to King Tut’s a few times, and the food is satisfactory every time.
This time, I got blended fava beans called Ful Medames (or Mudammas). It was topped with tahini, veggies, olive oil, and spices. It came with warm pita and a side of hummus and falafel. It was all delicious, especially the hummus and falafel!
I also had Egyptian coffee. That was so good! I don’t even drink coffee, but this one was strong and good with just some sugar (added to taste), no milk needed (or offered, lol).
The food took maybe 15 minutes, maybe shorter to come out. Not bad at all. The food tasted cooked to order, fresh, hot, and I like that.
I’m looking forward to having the lamb chops again. Those are very good. A must-try.
The service was good. The owners are personable folks who will engage you with a little friendly conversation. The food’s already delicious, so supporting delightful people is easy. I’ll be coming back for sure.
I like the seating area outside. Smart that it’s covered so people can eat outside even when the sun is beaming down. It’s especially nice in the evening with the lights and colors and decor that make the space feel cozy.
Fun fact: Guy Fieri came here at some point and enjoyed the food!

Phenomenal Mediterranean cuisine! Do not be fooled by the location, King Tut’s food is amazing. The Falafel was crispy, earthy and came with hummus that had a bit of a bite to it. The main dishes were beautifully presented with pickled onion and fresh greens. The meat was tender and full of spices. Additionally, the staff was friendly and eager to serve.
By far, the best Mediterranean food I’ve had in Nashville thus far.
