Please don’t waste your time stopping here for food! We had a large party of 20 that we made a reservation for 2 weeks in advance. Then called again the afternoon of the reservations to confirm: 20, at 6:30. We arrived at 6:20. Only to find out that they had “no reservation” for us. So we decided mistakes happen and gathered around another section that would be big enough for our group. So, we waited over an hour to even get a waiter! I had grabbed us menus, so that we were all ready when someone finally showed up. We told him that we had waited well over an hour to get anyone’s attention. He apologized and took our orders. Then we waited for over 30 min to get our drinks! After another 30 min, we found “the manager”, Nick and asked what the problem was with our food order? We were very concerned/confused because people that had arrived after us were receiving their food. Some of it was the same items that we had ordered. He said that he was sorry and offered to give us a 10% discount. So after ANOTHER hour of waiting, I decided that I was going to look in the kitchen to see if I could see what was going on? Well, “Chef” Tom came out and told me that us bringing a group of 20 really threw them off. I told him that WE HAD a reservation. He told me that he was not aware of any reservation. He told us that he would, “make us a special desert”. WHAT????? you have not been able to get us our dinner in the 2 hours that we were already waiting, how would he be able to fit it in and make us a “special desert”? So after 2 and a half hours, our food finally arrived! I had ordered the corn beef dinner special and it was the toughest corn beef that I ever had. How hard is it to cook corn beef?
Please take my advise and DON”T ever go there…..unless you have 3 hours to get bad food!

Honestly just had the worst meal that I have ever had in a restaurant. It took probably 45 minutes to get our food and it was not crowded. I ordered the sandwich combo with a side salad and a cup of the chicken and rice soup. When the food finally came, the soup was barely warm, the chicken salad had absolutely no taste and it was on burnt toast. Apparently the chef didn’t think I would notice because he put the burnt side in. My salad had brown soggy pieces of lettuce that could not be eaten. And it is way over priced. Never again Blackthorn!!! I should mention though that the waitress was quite friendly and did a good job.

The pizza was less than tasty and had an odd sweet flavor to it. The panini was suppose to have a sauce and there was so little that there was no flavor to this either. The wings were pretty good: they could have used more sauce but at least they were edible.

The food was pretty good. We all had the steak that was on special, so not a lot of variety to compare with.
However, from the moment we walked in the front door, I could tell no one cared about us, or their job. I made an appointment 7 hours ahead of time, and specifically requested a booth for a party of 4. When we came in I gave my name and notifed them we had a reservation. Without even looking at the book, the hostest looked around the restaurant and said there were no booths available. She asked us if we would like to wait, for what looked to be at least over 15 minutes, or get a high table closer to the bar. Keep in mind, there was less than 35 people in the restaurant and bar at this point in the evening. (7 PM) So they were by no means busy.
I was with my father and his girlfriend as well as my wife, and my father has a back issue and my wife is short. This is why I reserved a booth. I told the hostess we prefer a booth however a high table would be acceptable. They proceeded to place us in the middle of the room right next to the busiest part of the bar. You would think that being close to the bar would mean an accurate and quick drink order. You would be wrong. Our first order of drinks took over 15 minutes to deliver. Later, while eating we saw the bartender behind the bar studying how to mix drinks from a large book.
After they brought us our drinks the waitress made us wait another 15 minutes, presumably while she went on break, to finally take our orders. Our menus have been on the table since before they delivered our drinks, so there was no mixed signals being sent to the servers. After waiting another 45 minutes for steaks they finally brought us our food. We had to specifically ask for dinner rolls as well as silverware for 2 of the seats.
Service aside, let’s talk about the kids who work there. And I don’t mean kids as in they were all immature. I mean kids as in they couldn’t have been much older than 17 years old and there were no visible managers keeping them on task. Which they so desperately needed. The girls that work there were all wearing inappropriate attire for a family restaurant / pub. Don’t get me wrong, I like a good looking girl wearing next to nothing, but what these employees were wearing made me think they were all homeless or prostitutes. It didnt look like anyone knew what they were doing as well.
We ended up droping over $150 on dinner and I dont think we got our money’s worth. It wasn’t till after my Dad started to give our server some playful teasing about the service did they start asking us if we needed refills for our drinks.
Long story short, order food over the phone and take it home to eat it. I know I’m not going to order from them again.

Was exited to finally visit but will never come here again! Waited over twenty minutes trying to get a drink as several bar tenders walked by without even looking. Was waiting patiently as bartenders took shots and only paid attention to one side of the bar. Finally I ordered my drink and a friend asked for one also. When the bartender returned and I asked for another drink he yelled F***! and stormed away angrily to make it. When he returned he ripped my money out of my hand and threw my change on the bar. Have never been treated so rude by a bartender / server!!!

The service was okay nothing to remember. It’s a Friday night and not very busy sat down no wait. They serve drinks in plastic disposable cups, since they are in the wash. Order dinner have to ask for silverware and napkins, get plastic silverware with napkin in little bag, since silverware was being washed. Really!? Daughters nachos didn’t come out until everyone done eatting. Needless to say they were awful, had chicken ordered no meat, chips burnt and cold melted cheese with no flavor. Their new shrimp dejoghne was disgusting. Get a bowl of Luke warm bread crumbs, mushrooms, cold cheese with little bay shrimp. Magic Dave was only good part of dinner. Will never be returning.

Place is closed so nothing left to rate. No surprise tho. We were regular customers for the last 7 years and in the past 2 years service and food quality had dramatically declined. Their marquee is hyping their grand reopening. I’ll give them one chance to redeem themselves.
