Our Story From One Neighborhood Taquería to a Boston Favorite El Barrio began in October 2018 with a simple idea: create a place where the neighborhood could gather, eat well, and feel at home. Our first location opened in the heart of Dorchester, built on the belief that fresh food, friendly faces, and genuine hospitality bring people together. From day one, our mission has stayed the same serve good food, offer good service, and welcome every guest like family. Today, with four Boston-area locations, we continue to celebrate our community through flavor, music, and the vibrant spirit of Mexico.

I can’t recommend this spot enough. I’ll start with the atmosphere. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with beautiful artwork on the walls and the place is decorated splendidly. Every time I walk in there is always amazing music playing that makes waiting for your meal (which does not take long btw) all the more enjoyable. The staff are friendly and you can tell they care about their work. With that being said, service is quick and efficient. Online orders are placed neatly on a shelf against the wall for customers to grab and go, and there is a screen for you to order yourself. The food always comes out hot and is cooked to perfection. There are plenty of toppings you can choose from as well, all for a decent price too. If you’re in the area and are feeling hungry for something authentic, do yourself a favor and stop by. You won’t regret it!

I work across the street from El Barrio Mexican Grill, and it’s one of my go-to lunch spots. The food is consistently good, the service is always friendly and quick, and the prices are very reasonable. It’s a great place to grab lunch during the workday. Convenient, tasty, and reliable every time.

Walking in the music is always a hit— been here once for dine in and a few times for take out. While sitting in here it can get full during lunch time but the ladies on the grill waste no time, orders come in and who’s not staying are out the door with their fresh order. The food is delicious, I’m not scared to try anything new to my palate off the menu. Everyone on staff is pretty nice and can tell they all are working together to get the community fed. Really enjoy this place.
