Delicious Japanese food! The sashimi was melt-in-your-mouth fresh! You can really taste the quality. Our server Steven was very friendly and help us pick the perfect dishes.

This is my second time going back to test their reputation since I like giving 2nd chances. Food is decent if you come in hungry, but it’s not a really good quality sushi spot. Just be mindful of what you order as some of them comes larger than you would expect (see photo) or ask how big the item you’re about to order. They would rather not tell you how big dish is and have leftovers. Also they put too much rice on everything. This will be my last time eating here.

It’s right outside of base and that should be your first clue. If you just came from Japan or it’s still fresh in your mind, then you may be upset.
A restaurant guessing what Japanese food is and serving it to people who maybe aren’t familiar with Japanese food. At least that’s my theory as to why the ratings are so high, or maybe they excel at other items.
The spicy tuna in the hand roll tasted… off. The yakitori had a tough dry texture and sauce. The shumai and fried rice were the best in my opinion, and even those were mid.
I’m sorry for leaving a not-great review, but we were so disappointed with what we received for that much money. I like the decor though.

If you put a gun to my head I still wouldn’t recommend this place. They have an $18.99 all you-can-eat-lunch special which includes a bunch of mediocre rolls and appetizers, the nigiri is 80% sushi rice (and they’ll charge you extra if you don’t finish all the rice… which, as you can see from one of my pictures, could be used as a baseball for the Norfolk Tides), and the staff doesn’t seem to have any idea what authentic Japanese food tastes like. And I’ll go ahead and double-down on the rice comment. They use extra rice for everything so you fill up faster. It’s shady and makes everything dry. If you’re trying to save money, don’t make your food worse in doing so. Also the wasabi was neon green and now I can climb walls.

Nice, spacious sushi restaurant in a strip mall! Had all you could eat sushi for $27 and was well worth it. Had a couple pieces of sushi and sashimi and two rolls along with sake (they have many choices). Even had a little robot server which I had only seen in Japan previously. All of it was outstanding and well worth the price!

Lunch specials are nicely priced with plentiful portions. Sushi is fresh and delicious! My friend got the teriyaki steak and enjoyed it as well.

I am in town for a short time and decided to try Daiwa. When I got there they were kind of enough to give me free wontons with my order which was a nice surprise and the food was really good. I’m rarely surprised by portion sizes but I could have had enough fried rice food for 3 meals. The sushi was tasty and fresh and neatly packaged for a to go order. They were quick and welcoming during food pickup and the milk tea was perfect.

I walked in here on TDY and expecting a casual bite, but left feeling utterly disappointed. The “chef special” deep-fried roll arrived after what felt like an eternity, I’d already polished off two Coronas while waiting. It wasn’t just overcooked; it was tough enough to crack a tooth. The coating looked greasy and unappetizing, like it had been slathered in blown engine oil.
The ambiance didn’t help. A basic YouTube video played on loop with jarring commercials, while the lighting was so dim it felt like I’d been dropped into a cave. Along with the three sailors cussing and talking about their Ex relationships. Not to mention the food itself was dry and lifeless.
When the bill arrived, my jaw dropped. 25 for one overcooked roll and two beers? Wild
Bottom line: This place is a disaster. The food was terrible, the atmosphere was depressing, and the price was obscene. Save your money and your taste buds, go somewhere else.

Should have listened to the other reviewers, but oh well. Don’t let the cute robot server fool you. the all-you-can-eat option is nothing to write home about. From the neon-green wasabi to the toothpaste-like eel sauce on the sushi, the quality just wasn’t there. Hopefully they can improve things for their customer base, but this isn’t somewhere I’d recommend.

Not sure how this place gets such good reviews. Sushi was tasteless. Service wasn’t all that good either. The robot was entertaining. Decent menu for all you can eat. Concept is in place. Unfortunately the taste and service isn’t. I can’t recommend this place too anyone that actually enjoys sushi.
