This is the second time I’ve been here and it does not disappoint! I love Ethiopian food and was glad to stumble upon this place.

The food is delicious, the service is great, and the proprietor (I believe she was Vera) is on hand to give suggestions and steer you in the right direction. We did about four of the different entrées and ate them family style with sides of Injera. There were five of us and we had a good amount of leftovers. The food is spicy, but not hot. The dessert was delicious and light parrot with some of the Ethiopian coffee and you have a winning combination the price point is certainly reasonable.

This is definitely going on my list of favorites.

Vera’s Kitchen is one of those rare gems that keeps you coming back. This wasn’t my first visit and it certainly won’t be my last. Vera herself is warm and welcoming, which sets the tone for the entire experience. I ordered the Sigi Alcha this time and it was absolutely delicious — beautifully seasoned, flavorful, and served with perfectly made injera. If you haven’t tried authentic Ethiopian food or are looking for a genuinely special dining experience, this is the place. I always make a point to stop in whenever I’m in town.

I did not leave a single crumb on the plate. If I was in the area, I would surely have gone back the next day to eat the same dish.

Today, I decided to explore the flavors from the East Africa by trying Ethiopian cuisine. The African continent is home to more than 50 countries, each with its own unique dishes. Having tried cuisines from various African countries, I was looking forward to comparing this cuisine with what I have had previously in other restaurants.

The waitress at Vera’s Kitchen was very pleasant and able to explain the items on the menu when we ordered.

I choose to eat Beyaynetu, a vegetarian dish served with injera bread, a spongy injera flat bread made from highly nutritious gluten-free teff flour. I loved the complex and rich flavors of the five items on top of the injera bread. Pieces of the bread are normally torn off and used to grab the lentils and vegetables on top, although using a fork is also an option. And like I said-not a crumb was left on the plate. I finished the meal off with fine Ethiopian coffee that arrived in the traditional vessel.

If there is anything that could be improved, possibly the restaurant’s decor but I went there for the food. When the food is this excellent, ambiance is just a bonus.

I loved the food. I recommend trying tibs and beg wot. The injera which is a spongy sour tasting flatbread is so delicious. It was very peaceful here and the worker was amazing and helpful. Give it a try.

My family and I always have a great time and experience when we come here. The staff remember who we are from visit to visit, even asked about missing family members when we showed up today without our full party. We all leave full and happy…maybe a little stuffed, but very happy!

Delicious! Tibs were amazing! Loved the lamb as well! Got the trio with the Tuna and we ate it all! Paired with the Nokesville wine, and it was all wonderful!

Great food and excellent service and ambiance. I was just in ethiopia and can say that the injera, coffee and food is very authentic. Highly recommend. We had tibs and foulle and beef cubes. Injera as well as coffee. Very good.

We took friends for the first time to try Ethiopian food.
The owner Ms Vera was fantastic.
She explained the dishes, the process, the culture, the spices, and then delivered a fantastic meal.
The conversation and the environment along with the atmosphere made the dining of five star without question.

We couldn’t decide which desserts to get so we chose all of them and they were all awesome

I highly recommend Vera’s Kitchen located in the heart of historic Manassas. I am so glad I visited today! Not only did my family and I eat like royalty today, but we also got the BEST service from the beautiful Veronica! She was attentive, friendly, makes all her customers feel special, the food was so tasty and phenomenal (pics don’t do it justice!), and it was a very welcoming atmosphere. It’s a cute and clean place where you will feel at home. Tip: make sure you come hungry because you will leave feeling full & happy and try the ginger boost tea
