First time dining here. Overall it was pretty good and we would go back! Would not get the mussels again because it was borderline too salty and just kinda boring. The cocktails were amazing and the cheese curds were one of the best! The prime rib sandwich was good too.

This was our first visit and will certainly not be the last. We started with the onion rings and potato waffles, both absolutely delicious. The curry ketchup with the onion rings was a fantastic dip as well, probably our favorite dish of the meal. Mussels were absolutely loved and a huge portion. The small steak frites was delicious as well. Cooked as requested and a huge portion of fries, which were yum as well. The peppercorn sauce was a little pepper spicy but still good. The elote burger was also good, though would do a double patty if ordered again. The two different prices for the burgers are for either single or double patty; same for the steaks, 5oz or 10oz. Hostess stand is on the 50th Street side of the building and speaking of the hostess, she was absolutely lovely and welcoming. Service was fine There, nothing to write home about. We got lucky with a spot in the small parking lot in the back of the building but there is also plenty of street parking or a free public parking lot nearby. Another plus was the sidewalks were very clean considering it was winter. We look forward to coming back when the weather is nicer to dine on the patio.

We dropped into Dexters at 5:00 for a bite and several cocktails. I was underwhelmed by the decor and surprised that a Del Prado restaurant would be so blah. Browns and beiges dominate, and the space looks like an old elementary school with some kitchen and restaurant equipment shoved into it. We sat at the Formica bar, ordered drinks from the young staff, and checked out the American food menu. I stuck to the happy hour choices and fell in love with the potato waffles. The chicken sandwich and burger were good also. Next time, I’ll try the Chicken Milanese. I liked Dexter’s, especially when the vivacious Vivian, our barkeep, recognized me from Minari. My ego needs that. However, I wished Dexter had more visual style and panache. My aesthetics needs that.

8.5/10 experience at Dexters. I went there for my birthday dinner and was treated to a complimentary dessert from my waiter. The root beer float was simple in nature, but oh so tasty! I ordered the spicy rigatoni pasta with sausage and burrata for dinner and was pleased by the portion sizes (plenty for leftovers) and the overall feel. I felt like however the noodles and flavor could use a bit more complexity and finesse. The shrimp cocktail was extremely basic, I would go for a different appetizer next time. Good oysters for happy hour. Very heavy, hearty meal, walked out very full! Not a huge fan of the giant TVs, but would consider returning for more appetizers and drinks, rather than dinner.

The happy hour here is amazing! We went on a Thursday evening and easily got a table, but the patio filled up by 6:30. The cheese curds were tasty, but the orange cheese powder dusting was unexpected. The salmon tartare and cinnamon wings were great. The cacio e Pepe cauliflower were a little soggy and not my favorite.

The brussel sprouts were a stand out dish and were the best I’ve ever eaten. The make up make out cocktail was also delicious. Our server was so nice and we loved the patio!

This is hands down the best burger in Minneapolis. The mushroom burger is incredible, and the juice that comes with it is wonderful. Truly one of the best burgers I’ve ever had.

A Fantastic Experience at Dexter’s!

I recently had enjoyed brunch at Dexter’s and was thoroughly impressed! The welcoming atmosphere and great service immediately stood out.
The elote burger was an absolute masterpiece; juicy, flavorful, and perfectly complemented by its unique, delicious toppings. Equally impressive was the Truffle mushroom burger a rich and decadent culinary creation with smashed wagyu, truffle mayo, and fontina. Both burgers truly showcased the great quality of ingredients.

I highly recommend Dexter’s to anyone seeking a truly great experience. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

I came here with colleagues for our burger club meeting. My expectations were more than exceeded. Everything on the menu seems to be exceptional. Their drink menu/tap list has several great options for any pallet. As my party dined bistro style we all got to sample a fair range of the menu. The burgers used ground wagyu beef. The French fries are tallow fried. Everything is high quality. I was surprised at how reasonable the prices were given the quality.

Presently as of 2025 I think this may be the best burger restaurant in the metro.

Food is fantastic right out of the gate at Dexter’s. We really enjoyed the green goddess salad which was bright and full of summery herbs that packed a lot of punch. Oysters and wings were tasty, but be sure you’re a cinnamon fan before diving in there — a little overwhelming after more than 2-3 wings. Fries are crispy and super flavorful, and we loved the onion burger and pastrami sandwich. Dessert was a surprising highlight — we’ll be back for the vanilla and peach in particular.

It’s so so new, so we expected a few bumps, and it was the service and timing on plates and drinks. Confident it’ll be ironed out in a few weeks, so be gentle welcoming this new spot with a delicious and fairly priced menu.

Such a fun atmosphere! Very welcoming with an energizing atmosphere. I had the fried chicken sandwich which was amazing! It had a basil mayo topping which I had never heard of before, but is now an absolute favorite. We also shared the potato waffles as an appetizer which were crispy on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside and had a dill dipping sauce which tasted amazing. The drinks were creative and yummy too! Definitely will be going back!
