The girl working there was nice enough to tell us beforehand that they had trouble with the fish fry being available and so we weren’t sure what to order. Tried the shrimp(grilled) po’boy and the catfish po’boy. Was a little pricey, but flavor was good. The girl was so sweet and patient while we decided what to order.

I’ve ordered Beach Feast to go for my family of 4. Well packaged and all I had to do was to toss entire package to oven to heat a little~ From outside it looks like a fast food place but it was a serious home cook style of food at a very good price. Because it was mid afternoon, I had chance to talk to nice and friendly owner herself about what they do. She invited me to see how food it prepared in kitchen that was nice and clean. I happen to be at the mall to stop in but I live far from this place, bummer.

Delicious, freshly prepared seafood!
I ordered the fried catfish dinner, which was 3 nice-sized pieces of cornbread battered catfish. Dirty rice was delicious and corn on the cob was good.
My wife ordered the small fried shrimp basket. Piping hot shrimp and tasty seasoned fries.
Definitely planning to come back to try other menu items like the catfish po’ boy and their fish & chips, and cheesy grits

This little, unassuming restaurant should not be missed! Surf’s Up in Mt. Prospect is conveniently located right next to the AMC Theater in Randhurst and this is the perfect place to grab a bite before the movies! Convenient parking lot right next to it as well.
This is a cute little restaurant with a few tables, window seats and seating along the wall. With the weather being nice there are tables outside too. Hubby and I wanted some seafood and we passed by Surf’s Up a few times so it’s long overdue for us to stop and try the food today.
The owner, Lisa, was working behind the counter. She is so sweet and certainly very proud of her restaurant! We asked her for recommendations and she was happy to share some of the top preferred items of guests. She gave us time to look over the menu. I settled on the fried catfish dinner with a side of grits, greens & a roll. Hubby wanted fish and chips with a roll. Lisa told us that everything is made fresh to order so it would be about 15-20 mins. We weren’t in any hurry, but we appreciated the heads up and the fact that it was all freshly made.
The food arrived crispy and hot and oh so delicious! My catfish was so flakey. The grits and greens were the perfect sides to go with it. Hubs really enjoyed his fish and chips. The fries were so good, we couldn’t stop eating them. Lisa also sold us on the fresh bread pudding, but we so full so we had to take it go. Just finished it tonight and it was even more delicious than she described!
We will certainly be returning to try the shrimp po’ boy and other items on her menu! Plus more bread pudding. Don’t pass up this cute little place with delicious fresh seafood and desserts plus friendly service.

It’s a cute little restaurant with a few tables inside, window seats and along the wall. My fiancé and I order the Shrimp Po Boy and Lobster Po Boy, both fried of course. The food arrived crispy and hot and very very good. We really enjoyed the food and will definitely come back again.

Had a great experience at Surf’s Up Mount Prospect! I really enjoyed the fish and chips—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I also tried “Tha Bomb” and it absolutely lived up to the name—so good! The food came out hot and fresh, and the service was friendly and fast. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to when I’m craving seafood done right.

This place is a hidden gem. Everything was cooked to perfection. I ordered the grilled lobster and fried perch combo with corn and potatoes and fries as my sides. Everything was seasoned to absolute perfection. My wife ordered the lobster po’boy. Her sandwich was also seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The food is cooked with care and attention to detail. If I could give more than five stars I would.

Best Shrimp Ever!
I had the fried catfish and grilled shrimp combo with fries and corn — everything was delicious, but the shrimp was absolutely next level. Perfectly seasoned, a little spicy, and insanely good.
Next time, I’m skipping everything else and ordering nothing but shrimp. This place knows what they’re doing! ️
