Two couples visited the brand new Venezia’s Garden Italian Restaurant in Natchitoches tonight for a late night meal. We were looking forward to trying our small town’s newest restaurant, we were not disappointed. The service was prompt and friendly. The bread was truly delicious. The appetizers were generous and really good. The main courses were generous and very tasty. The dessert was delicious. The waitress insured us that everything was made in the kitchen from scratch. What I liked most was the traditional Italian flavors that I love. If you love REAL ITALIAN food, I urge you to try this delightful family owned restaurant, you will be glad you did.

I have enjoyed the three trips to this restaurant over the past four weeks. The food has been wonderful. Italian food has not been something easy to find in Natchitoches, but now we have Venezia’s. Prices are great. You have classical meals, great specials, and wonderful sauces that can be paired with chicken or shrimp. Also don’t forget the desserts.

Some of the food is serviceable but, whatever you do, don’t order the Eggplant Parm… in their infinite wisdom they decided to cut the eggplant vertically leaving you with a nice hot plate of gooey eggplant center and no crispy edges that are supposed to give actual texture to the hot plate of goo. They also lack a common grasp on what a salad should be unless you like 3 times the dressing to lettuce ratio. Finally, if you like any customization to your order, like replacing one type of noodle for another, just be ready to be disappointed. Actually, I would say don’t go here unless you plan on being disappointed… Bring back the BBQ place.

Our visit started out fine – we were greeted and seated immediately after arriving.
Kids’ menu has limited options.
Spaghetti from the menu didn’t have much much flavor.
Ordered mild wings and they were a bit hot, but good.
Ordered chicken parmigiana and asked to SUB marinara sauce with alfredo. Waiter tried to tell us to order chicken fettuccine instead, which we stressed is not what we wanted. He didn’t write down our order. He never asked what dressing we wanted with our salads.
Our chicken parmigiana came out BUT it wasn’t what we ordered … they brought us chicken fettuccine. When we told the waiter that wasn’t what we wanted, some lady came out. She tried telling us that that is what we ordered. We politely told her no and stated we wouldn’t pay for it. She asked if we touched it … not sure what difference that makes since I’m hoping they wouldn’t serve it to someone else. Then a man came out; assuming maybe he was the owner. I showed him a picture my sister had received from a coworker of her chicken parmigiana and asked how what we had was the same as the picture. He had no words and walked away with the plate mumbling something under his breath. He was beyond rude.

Oh and then when our check came to us, we were charged for 2 spaghetti entrees. Not sure the reason behind it when we had a kid’s spaghetti and hot wings ♀️

You would think that based on their prices, this would be fine Italian cuisine but it’s not. Their sauce is bland and not worth the prices they are charging. I ordered lasagna and was disappointed. They are in a great location of Historic Natchitoches but don’t come close to being as good as many of the other spots downtown.

Read all these great reviews before we tried this place, and now am just left shaking my head. Wait staff was very pleasant, but not enough to overcome the quality of the food. Dishes were bland and uninspired. Nothing was seasoned well at all. The sauces on the lasagna and chicken parm tasted like they were crafted by Chef Boyardee. (Imagine a breaded chicken cutlet smothered in spaghetti o’s) the only hand crafted item in the joint seemed to be the salad, but apparently they are suffering from a shortage of fresh tomatoes because both of our salads had one little sliver each. I actually had to apologize to my wife after we left because this was her Birthday dinner. Next time I will do us both a favor and go a little further down the street to Maglieauxs. I suggest that you all do the same.

VERY poor service! I don’t think this place is ready to be a restaurant. My wife and I were excited to have an Italian restaurant in town, but unfortunately we will not be going back to this one.
We arrived at 7pm on a Friday. The restaurant was not particularly busy and there were four waiters and a bus boy. The only part of our visit that was fast was our being seated.
We ordered teas, but we’re informed that there would be a delay as to them having to brew more, so we were served water. We were served our drinks and some rolls and our order was taken promptly. Time ticked by… we waited 20 minutes for our cheese bread appetizer, which was very good. We were served salad, that comes with our entrées, shortly after the appetizer. The salads were disappointing; only iceberg lettuce and a small wedge of tomato like the salad in bags at the grocery store.
More time ticked by, but we were NEVER served our entrées. The table next to us was served and they came in 10 minutes after we did. We told their waitress that we were leaving and wanted our entrées and tea to go. Turns out that the kitchen had never cooked our meals nor made the tea!!!!!
We paid for our bread and water and left hungry and very disappointed. We will not be back.

Excellent fresh pasta, made in their own kitchen. Finally authentic Italian food in Natchitoches. Reasonable prices. The wine and beer selection is lacking, but the quality of the food makes up for it

Been only twice at this point. So far everything I’ve tried has been great. The sauces aren’t overly heavy and are well seasoned. Portions aren’t too small for the price.
Service so far hasn’t had any flaws.

We witnessed our server loudly and rudely accost another server because she made a mistake. When I asked for a manager so I could report the rude server for her unprofessionalism , the “rude server” turned out to be the manager. Once I confronted her about her behavior, she informed me she is actually the owner (after she told me the owner was not present) and the server she was chastising had messed up on the computer and there was nothing wrong with her being ugly (raising her voice and getting in her face) in front of customers. Then when a new customer walked in and asked me what was going on, the “owner” told me I needed to stop discussing the incident with other customers. We will not be returning. So sad to see people treated so awful. The young lady was in tears the entire hour and a half we were there. Truly heartbreaking.
