So we ended up at El Malecon by chance that day. It was on my list of places to visit so I was delighted that me and hubby ended up here. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and seated. Waitress immediately came over to take our drink orders – I wasn’t ready yet as we had just sat down but she did mention they had a cafe de olla so I immediately knew that we had to have one and let me tell you about how Amazing this coffee was. The moment she placed that cup down on our table the aromas that filled the air were so delightful it immediately made me excited to try the food next. To be honest I don’t remember what my hubby asked for that day because that coffee took over my brain. I ordered some tacos de asada that were loaded to the brim. The tacos were absolutely amazing in flavor, in toppings and especially because they were on HomeMade Corn Tortillas. You can NEVER EVER beat the flavor of a taco made on a homemade corn tortilla. I was so delighted with my food that I hadn’t even noticed the beautiful decor of the restaurant. They had the restaurant set up so beautifully with hanging lights and colorful decorations. I saw a candy stand, an agua Fresca stand, a dessert case and even a little spot that looked like when you are in Mexico at the Mercado purchasing your goods. Restaurant is clean and comfortable and honestly I can’t wait to come back.

Service was horrible. Waitress did not know what she was doing. Waited 20 minutes to get just the menus. Other people walked out so I don’t know how long they waited before us. They had limited drinks. We ended up paying for our drinks and walking out. Cute place needs better costumer service.

Unfortunately I personally will not dine there again.
We went with a party of 9,the restaurant was empty and when we told a server she made a face like . Ordering food was very un organized, server was kind but did not have much knowledge, urgency,ect. We ordered drinks (only options were coke,fanta,2 different aguas) and was brought a cup full of ice with only half the cup full of soda. Not everyone got their choice of drink because they ran out of coke. We asked if they had chips and salsa, we were told they had something else but we never got anything else, a bit confusing. Menu did not have many options and pictures are very misleading. Most of us ordered birria tacos and a few ordered a plate with costillas. Tacos were not “It” the meat looked almost like shredded chicken and lots of fat, no salsa for tacos. One of the plates of costillas was undercooked. We tried to make it easy when ordering explaing who was on each ticket, we were still given 2 tickets which was of each table not by group, then when we asked to have at least one of the tickets separated it took a very long time and still was incorrect (we just made it work amongst ourselves)
We wanted to give them a try since we don’t have much on this side of town but personally I would not return, I do wish them the best of luck and hope that these reviews help them better their business. Restaurant was nice inside, clean, but seemed very awkward as a customer

Too expensive for the area it’s in, and the loud music lowers the overall quality. The service is also very slow. I definitely won’t be back, and they need to make sure the waitresses cover their hair; one of them got her hair in the food.

Not worth it! I bought a burrito and it really wasn’t as good as it looked also too pricey, the plate had a long hair in my lettuce! They took it back and brought me out another burrito on the same plate. I was disgusted!

The tacos el pastor were very salty and otherwise bland. The food came out cold and everyone got their meal at different times. They over charged everyone at the table different prices than what was on the menu, and we had to ask them to fix it. They also charge $1.50 for water that’s room temperature with no ice. I felt like dinner here was a scam. We won’t be back.
