I love eating at any Xalos in ANC. They have delicious tacos. The options include a vegetarian taco with black beans and vegies. Plus all the other taco are awesome. Take your pick because everything there is good food.

Stopped by this burrito spot for a quick bite. The staff was friendly, and the environment was clean and casual—nothing to complain about there. As for the food, it was your standard burrito. Nothing special or particularly memorable, but it gets the job done if you’re hungry and in a pinch. It’s the kind of place you might not go out of your way for, but it works when you need something fast and filling.

I placed an online pickup order under my name, as I typically do, and sent my husband to pick it up. He gave them my full name, and an employee was in the process of handing him the food when another staff member stopped the interaction and asked for additional confirmation before releasing it.
My husband was friendly and respectful the entire time. He even greeted and addressed the staff in Spanish to be courteous. Despite that, he was required to provide proof of purchase, and I had to send him the order confirmation before they would hand the food back to him.
The way this was handled made my husband feel embarrassed and frustrated. While I understand verifying orders, the situation felt inconsistent and unnecessary, especially since this has never been required at other locations.
We usually order from the location near Target on 100th St. and have never had this issue before. Because of this experience, we won’t be ordering from this location again.

Anchorage is not known for spicy food to be honest but this place was above and beyond. Quick and easy with really excellent, fresh mexican fare in a range of heat levels. They have Jamaica and several other cool drinks as well as bottled Mexican soda. Plenty of parking and super easy to get to.

I was excited to try Xalos after reading all of the positive reviews. My California burrito tasted good but the carne asada was pretty tough and some of the listed ingredients were hard to find.
I was also let down when I learned that you cannot customize your burrito at all and they don’t have a salsa bar. How can you serve chips without salsa and then charge $6 for a small side of salsa?
I’ll come back some time to try the birria tacos… but I’ll probably stick to Qdoba or Taco King next time I’m looking for a burrito.

The burritos are awesome. I don’t know why it’s so hard to get a nice big classic burrito in Anchorage, but Xalos has it. It hits the the perfect notes on California Mexican food. The vegan and vegetarian items are clearly marked.

Wasn’t expecting good Mexican food while visiting Anchorage, but decided to give this place a try after a mountain bike ride. The birria tacos were delicious, and the provided sauce/salsa was flavorful with a mild kick of spice. Looks to be family owned, which I prefer supporting. Would be a regular here if I lived in the area.

Delicious Biria (marinated shredded beef), super burrito, fresh ingredients, really flavorful, salsa, included, and chips, included with the burrito! Love the speedy service and kind folks work in there! Very reasonable portions and prices! La comida realmente es muy rica!
I also like the minimalist ambience reminds me of more authentic experiences I have had in Mexico.

Great spot for a quick, tasty meal! The food came out fast, everything was fresh, and the portions were generous. The staff was friendly and the place felt clean and welcoming. Perfect for when you want something flavorful without waiting forever. I’ll definitely be back.

I had a bad experience with this restaurant. My order got messed up a couple times so I went in and spoke with the manager Luz because I really do love their food and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and what she did, all businesses should take note from in Alaska. Customer service is nonexistent in a lot of places in this state, but she proceeded to not only give me a free meal, but offer me drinks, dessert, salad and anything else that I wanted. I was not looking for a free meal. I was just looking to have my voice heard, but what she did turned it into the reason that I will be back again and again. Great customer service!
