At this restaurant I like to order the Plant Burger with salad. It comes with cheese and a tangy, herby creamy aioli (photo doesn’t do it justice). All vegan.
Wide selection of non-alcoholic drinks based on nourishing ingredients.
For people who prefer savory breakfasts and can’t fathom another avocado toast, I ordered the Proper Breakfast (sub animal product for plants). The charcoal toast was interesting albeit sweet.
The library nook is ideal for getting quiet work done or a date or a catch up. The alcoves are best for drinks w/ friends. Although we always end up on the rooftop.
The burger was good but was basically an small cheval burger ($6 in chicago) for also… 36 dollars
Service is absolutely terrible. Getting a waiter is pulling g teeth and do not expect to see the. Again after you order.
We came for the famous Kelly Werstler interiors and they did not disappoint but don’t come expecting a conventional dining experience. Most people where seated to dine on low lounges or like us, in awkwardly uncomfortable small cane chairs. Looked beautiful, but not practical.
The service was very average, certainly not to the 5 star attentiveness you would expect, for example I had to roam around and find someone to ask for some pepper.
The food was good, they kindly swapped out the pasta to make it gluten free so points for that, but it wasn’t anything spectacular I couldn’t make at home.
Again, you really come here for the interiors because that’s about all that lived up to the 5 star experience.
Long story short, order a drink here, get your photos and go.
I had the breakfast sandwich which was just perfect, the perfect size, perfect combination of Avocado, Eggs, Bacon – and the aioli was just the perfect addition.
It was also served with a bowl of fruits (blackberries, strawberries, grapes, raspberries, melons, blueberries).
If the price is justified ($24) is up for debate, but I for sure wasn’t disappointed.
They also only serve breakfast (till 11am) and dinner.
If it wouldn’t be so expensive I would dine there way more often.
