I know it’s late to post but we have had a rough year with my husband’s cancer diagnosis but we found out yesterday after a year of chemo, radiation and immunotherapy he is now cancer free. This Christmas was once again a beautiful celebration of family. With our 5 great kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Nitches supplied the best prime rib roasts, as they have for so many years. Appreciated them so much!

Was my first time there I went because I was intrigued by the blueberry maple sausage. I bought those, regular breakfast sausage links, lunch meat, cheese, boneless chicken breasts and Cole slaw. When I opened my chicken breast and saw that I don’t have to spend extra time cutting off that yucky white fatty stuff I was so excited!! I was able just to prepare the chicken right away. I called to let them know how happy I was about that and spoke to Frank. Also the sausages were a chef’s kiss for sure!! I will be back for sure! I give two thumbs up because that’s all I have lol but it is more than that!!

We live an hour awa and still make the drive. The meat and sausages they sell are great, full of flavor, and delicious. The selection of other imported German goods is decent. We also took a sausage making class a couple years ago and it was great fun.
Definitely THE place to go if you like good meat and great sausages.

I rarely leave reviews, but this place is amazing especially the service and how pleasant everybody is that works there. They really take their time making you good food and they seem to really enjoy what they do, I drive 20 minutes from my work just to come here and grab lunch, their food taste very authentic and fresh and they’re very affordable.

Went here for a fresh turkey, they had all kinds of options for sizes. When Frank found out it was my first time cooking one, he asked if I wanted some tips. I said absolutely and he walked me through the process for cooking too get a great crispy skin and a moist turkey. It was the best experience I could have asked for and I highly recommend this Nitsches for anyone.

I was there to get 2 chicken breasts .. that’s it, nothing extravagant and the man behind the meat counter finished with the guest in front of me.. walked away, pulled out his phone and started scrolling – as I stood there.
And yes… he saw me waiting while taking care of the person before me. I was hoping to post the picture of him on his phone ignoring me but there’s no option to.. I’ll post that on local facebook pages.
TERRIBLE SERVICE.. lots of other places to get good meat with being treated poorly by the staff.

I stopped by to pick up some worst (German sausage). Was helped by Frank who was both incredibly helpful and cheerful. Frank explained that several of the sausages are made in house. If you are lusting after some homemade worst. This is the place!

I would give Nitsches a score of 10 if that option were available. I live hours away in another part of the country where no longer in business are the 2 stores I long loved because of butchers on the premises.
What a joy to interact with skilled butchers at Nitsches who know their craft so well. I am visiting to cook with my young grandnieces, so the butchers cut into cubes the top quality steak for the fondue, and the ground the pork and beef for the Swedish meatballs we made. Oh, what a difference that expertise made in how both dishes tased.
In stock were other products so hard to find, e.g., lingonberry jam to go with the Swedish meatballs. The Mexican (jalepeno) style pasta salad is amazing.
If you have not shopped here, do yourself a favor. You’ll get great ideas for menus you may not have used recently or inspire you to try something for the first time. Friendly, with attention to details, these are top top quality butchers who will be glad to give tips and ideas.

I drove 30+ r.t. miles to buy rotisserie Beef Ribs. They weren’t quite what I expected (1 order consisted of 1 bone, luckily I ordered 2.) They tasted like a really terrific Sunday Pot Roast. It turned out that, with a Carb side dish, a single bone was a filling meal. I asked the wrong question and had expected a partial slab. I still was happy that I was able to try them. The pictures show the top and bottom of one rib.
