Ordered a chai and was charged $2 more than the advertised price. It’s fine if prices have gone up but would prefer to have it posted.
Previously ordered a cafe au lait (on the menu) and workers didn’t know what it was and corrected us to “you mean latte” 3 times before we just accepted a latte.
Inconsistent overall. Sometimes drinks are great. Sometimes service is great. Sometimes they’re not.

LOVE Coffee Lodge! I rarely drink coffee anymore, but when I do I always go through Coffee Lodge Rolesville! Sometimes I even go just for their smoothies! Their cute decor is fun when the kids are with me, and I’ve never been disappointed by the drinks. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Prices very reasonable. Menu is very easy to understand. My most frequent order is a small decaf iced white mocha 🙂

So, this is difficult for me because we are LONG time customers of Coffee Lodge. Today is December 19, 2025, and after a LONG while I’ve finally decided today is the day to write this review. We love Coffee Lodge, the flavor of their coffees and the staff who work there. We feel connected to the place! Today, like some other days, my husband bought two large decaf coffees. We had to pour them out. They were so weak we couldn’t even taste the coffee. It was like drinking lightly flavored caramel water. Because the price of coffee has increased it’s a lot for us to throw away two large coffees. Especially when we’ve had to do it more and more frequently lately. It’s not every time, but probably 10-15% of the time. That adds up! We think the issue is not the coffee, but that some of the baristas don’t know how to pack the espresso correctly. Most of them do, and when it’s packed right that is one damn good cup of coffee! There are just some days, though, when it’s so weak it seriously is just bad. And, today is one of those days. Sundays also seem to be the days we most frequently get weak coffee. And, that’s unfortunate. Because, now today when I leave, I’ll be stopping over at the new coffee joint in Rolesville, Scooters, to check out their coffee. That makes me sad and worried about the long-term fate of Coffee Lodge. Because I would MUCH rather stay a CL customer, but I would like to have more consistency. I don’t know if anyone else is having this issue, but I suspect so. We’re not ready to throw the baby out with the bath water just yet, but with new coffee places coming into our small town I do hope Coffee Lodge can get this issue worked out soon.

Absolutely love Coffee Lodge! I’ve been coming here for over five years, and the service is always excellent. The coffee is so good—if you want coffee where you can actually taste the coffee, this is the place to go. It’s way better than any chain, and I love supporting a local spot. I stopped in this morning and, as always, the service was just as amazing.

Coffee lodge was great the 1st time we tried it back in 2024. Decent. We gave it another try, second experience was horrible. I ordered a cookies and cream coffee, my wife ordered some other flavor or just a regular coffee and both tasted and looked identical. On top of that the priced were outrageous. The girls at the window are extremely rude. I’m not sure if these are adults or high school children but they really made me uncomfortable the few times I went. We went a third time….HORRIBLE again. Coffee was so watered down. All around horrible. As much as I hate to talk bad about a small business, this one needs to get it together ASAP. I’ll go to Summer Moon, or any other coffee shop for that matter. Change the staff and fix the coffee. Pricing too.

This place seems like it would be okay if you are going for smoothies or flavored lattes, but if you are looking for more of the espresso forward drinks and expecting the traditional flavors, cubanos made with brown sugar (or any sugar, seriously it had no sweetness), or a cappuccino that’s not just a foamy latte, this is not the place for you. There was no discernible flavor difference between the cappuccino and cubano. At least it wasn’t expensive. The espresso had a decent flavor, the drinks just weren’t at all what we expected based on what we ordered. Both the cappuccino and cubano tasted like milky lattes.

I’ve been to this drive-thru coffee shop a few times and really enjoy their lattes — they’re genuinely good, and I like supporting local businesses. However, I’ve noticed a consistent issue with pricing. The total charged to my card is always higher than what’s listed on the drive-thru menu board. Today, for example, I ordered a latte listed at $4.39, but the total came to nearly $7. When I mentioned it, the staff said the prices on the board haven’t been updated “in about four years.”
While I understand costs go up, it’s frustrating as a customer to see one price and be charged another. Transparency matters, and keeping the menu accurate would go a long way toward building trust, especially when choosing local over big chains.

They sell Cuban coffee. We asked for it iced and they gave us some americano thing. Roast is a little dark but we’ll priced. It would be great if there were more shaded areas to sit.
