We had an excellent meal at Bayleaf restaurant as usual. We come here quite regularly and have never been disappointed. Food is authentic and of a very high standard. I had lamb Bombay and my husband had the Rogan, the meat is very tender and spice is just right! We introduced our friends to this place and now they won’t go anywhere else! The staff are very helpful and friendly. We’ll be back again soon

We were pleasantly surprised with this gem of a place in Lake / Sandown area. Went on a day trip to Shanklin and walked past Lake station and found this restaurant. I highly recommend dining inside instead of a takeaway. Staff were attentive and the dining area is clean and welcoming.
We both ordered madras curry, some usual starters and the garlic naan – they were all perfect (and spicy enough) for our taste. For the price we paid for two, it was well worth it! Hands down one of the best curry places in Isle of Wight.

Absolutely wonderful. The chef was so friendly and so accommodating. He came out to help me choose as I fancied something different from the usual Biryani or or Korma. He made me a special homemade curry. It was out of this world. I have eaten at Indian restaurants all over the world. This special place is up there with the best. A small little unassuming high street indian restaurant. I did not expect such a gastronomic culinary delight. The chef also made me at request the best creamy flavourful chai tea which he makes at home for himself usually and is not on the restaurant menu. Such sweet, hospitable people. Go there, they deserve your visit and you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent Indian restaurant, service was great, food was amazing. Take your own beer which made it great value. Th3 Sunday menu is £15.99 for a starter, main and 2 side dishes. Great place, would highly recommend it.

August 2025. We enjoyed our Indian meal at Bayleaf. The staff were pleasant and helpful on menu choices, explaining some of the dishes that we were unfamiliar with. The food was very good quality. The BYO on alcohol saved us quite a few pounds by bringing our own. Soft drinks must buy from the restaurant, which is fair. Service charge wasn’t added to the bill (that’s rare). Our bill for 2 people was £47, which is very good value nowadays. We added a £5 tip. We will return when we’re next on the IOW.

I was very impressed with the chef that came out to speak to me about an almond free korma! I didn’t even know that was possible! All the dishes were delicious, chicken good quality breast meat. Everything fresh.
