The BBQ burger with the house patty was very good. The BBQ sauce and onion jam were familiar flavors that rounded out the meal. The sweet potato fries were perfect. Staff was very patient with this omnivore. We were going to take out but there were plenty of tables that were spaced out so we ate there.
Driving through, the menu is easy to read and simple with more than enough options. Service was excellent, an abundance of gluten free options were available, and wait time was as expected despite a few cars ahead of us.
Entering inside, the layout and design of the entire restaurant feels spacious and welcoming. Clearly marked trash and recycling areas offer insight into the environmental efforts held by this business, as all items provided are made to be compostable and recycling is available when otherwise needed.
Ordering food, we purchased the double x burger, x treme fries, truffle mac & cheese, and chik nuggets. Burger had SO MUCH flavor and truly blew my socks off when I tasted it, and the GF bun tasted like any normal bun (which is truly a feat as most places struggle to create an attractive set of GF buns..but PCX knocked this out of the park). X treme fries have so much flavor and spice that they’re easily a fan favorite that I will get again and I highly recommend you try them. Chik nuggets tasted nearly identical to real chicken nuggets, but again more flavor, no processed ingredients, and most importantly cruelty free.
Constructive criticism, I’ve noticed others have had some complaints about the truffle Mac & cheese and there have been some who love it. I for one can say the truffle edition is not for me, but this mainly resides in my distaste for truffles. I believe the Mac and cheese can be improved simply by adding additional cashew sauce and maybe a new spice such as smoked paprika, two easy fixes to complaints of dryness or lack of flavor? I’m sure this just might need some tweaking, truly not a big deal as other reviews dramatize their experience rather viciously…it’s just REAL Mac & cheese thats gluten free at a fast drive thru…definitely tricky to pull off! I plan on testing the regular Mac and cheese for further taste evaluation. . . 😉
Price adjusting, it seems a lot of people are struggling to understand what it takes to construct a business that serves you cruelty free, non processed, and locally sourced/organic ingredient food items at such a quick pace through a drive thru window. The value that is brought by this business is well worth the prices on the menu, and if you struggle with the cost it may be more financially beneficial for you to grocery shop, then return home and cook the food yourself…this is delivered quickly and readily hot to your hands without you having to get off your butt!! (Convenience with true quality, flavor and service = priceless).
Overall I did not have expectations going into this experience and yet I was heavily blown away, already now planning my next trip over and I cannot wait till more locations open up! I drove 10+ hours to get here and back home, (100% worth it) super satisfied and proud of the work this business has accomplished thus far. Congratulations PCX and I’ll be writing my review of Plant City soon…, spoiler alert they are just as awesome (already been there quite a few times). Thank you and I look forward to returning, PCX is another prime example of the world transforming to gradually stop the cruelty we cause to animals and discover truly ethical ways of handling the world of convenience and ready to eat food service.
Standouts on the menu for me include the original chick’n sandwich, avocado toast, chili cheez fries and the choco chip cookie. All vegan!!
