VERDICT: Well-worth making the trip just for the food and coffee! I highly recommend this place. This is easily one of my favorite lunch spots.
FOOD: Get the Chicken and Beef Pelmeni (dumplings) paired with an Americano. The dumplings are somewhat reminiscent of Chinese dumplings, but they have two spaces for the filling, giving a critical increase in density, along with the melt-in-your-mouth tender ground beef and chicken (see pic). The dumplings were lightly tossed in a butter and topped with sour cream. The salt from the broth within the dumplings balance cuts perfectly through the richness. As for the Americano, it is a medium roast but had notes of dark roast, giving a good strong, deep flavor without the burnt flavor of dark or French roast. The richness of the coffee blends well with the pelmini dish beautifully. The bear claw was impressive, being sweetened gently by powdered sugar and almond brown sugar filling. Crisp, yet chewy, sweet, yet buttery. I look forward to returning and trying all the pastries when not getting the pelmini/Americano pairing.
SERVICE: Very cordial staff, even when I asked for their input on what genre the food was and history of the shop. (The genre is influenced by various Ukranian and Russian elements, so she said “Slavic” would be the correct nomenclature.) Everything was very clean and bright. Dishes from done orders were bussed quite quickly and everything wiped down.
ATMOSPHERE: Music is soft and the buzzing conversations around us weren’t distracting. With everything so clean, staff so kind, and the food to die for, I’d say the experience was perfect.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would! This was hands down some of the BEST food I’ve ever had in the U.S. Every single dish was incredible: the pierogi, the pelmeni, the cabbage rolls, and especially the honey cake. The atmosphere is so cozy, both inside and outside, and everything felt relaxed and welcoming. The portions are generous, the prices are super affordable, and the quality is beyond amazing. On top of that, the servers were very friendly. This restaurant is such a gem! I left already planning my next visit. If you’re even considering trying it, do yourself a favor and GO. You’ll fall in love with everything here!

A delightful delicious experience
I ordered the mushroom chicken spinach crepe “to go” because I was hopeful it would be enough for two meals. The half that I ate in a cozy chair in the cafe was so filling, nourishing, and delicious. I’m excited for leftovers at home.
Hearing the soft music and gentle voices speak in English and foreign languages was also an unexpected delight found in the middle of Meridian.
✨May this business thrive and grow.✨

Sunflower Bakery and Cafe is a hidden gem. We discovered it by accident when our daughter was at ballet class next door. The food and drinks are delicious. The chairs are amazingly comfortable. Everything is so clean and nice. We absolutely love coming here. They have really nice outdoor seating, and a great selection of pastries too.

Great little spot. Not a very big menu or selection, but everything looked and seemed great so that’s probably a good thing. As it was, it was hard to choose which cake to get for dessert. Prices and portions were reasonable, would recommend.

It was a nice little Cafe to stop by for breakfast. The environment was nice and clean, the people here were chatting away with pleasant jazz music playing that wasn’t to loud. The workers were kind and helpful not pushing us to order and letting us take our time to choose. My sister and I split the breakfast croissant and mocha it was delicious. I would definitely come back
