Fairhope is such a lovely town with delicious restaurants, and now I can add Thyme On Section to my list as a new favorite lunch destination.
The restaurant is small and cozy. We had to sit at the bar, but that was no problem. It was Friday afternoon and quite busy. The wait staff was really hustling, but still, our food came out in a timely fashion. I ordered the grouper blt with sweet potato fries, and it was delicious. It was on toasted sourdough bread fully dressed, and the fries were hot and tasty. My mom ordered the gyro with fries, and my aunt ordered the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant with sweet potato fries also. The gyro was huge, and my mom enjoyed it, but her shoestring type fries were overcooked and hard. That was the only hiccup in an otherwise delicious lunch. The wait staff seemed to consist of 2 ladies who were really handling the dining room. They were pleasant despite the volume of people they were serving. I hope they are recognized for how they and the kitchen kept things going without losing their cool, definitely great employees
I will definitely be back when I visit Fairhope again. We live in Pensacola but visit often.

Thyme on Section is a charming neighborhood café and wine bar that locals and visitors alike enjoy for its fresh, flavorful food and relaxed yet polished atmosphere. Tucked into the heart of Fairhope’s historic downtown, it strikes a lovely balance between casual dining and an elevated café experience.

The menu focuses on seasonal ingredients and thoughtfully prepared dishes. You’ll find creative takes on classic café fare — from hearty salads and artisan sandwiches to savory quiches and well‑executed entrées — all prepared with attention to detail and quality. Plenty of vegetarian options and fresh sides round out the offerings, and portions are generous without feeling heavy.

This place is easily in the top 5 restaurants of downtown Fairhope. We have eaten here many times and never had a bad experience. The food is on par with another local favorite in Daphne – Southwood Kitchen. The staff has been there for a number of years and are responsive and welcoming. You may luck up and get a table by just walking in but play it safe and get a reservation. Great cocktails, creative cuisine and a pleasant atmosphere make Thyme a gem.

We visited on a Thursday night and were able to be seated without a reservation. The restaurant is warm and inviting, the service is wonderful. My husband had the bolognese and I had the smoked chicken risotto. They were both delicious. The only reason I did not give this restaurant 5-stars overall is because the prices are too high for the serving size.

The whole vibe of this place was absolutely stunning. I loved the high raised ceiling with the barnyard beams. The brunch was delicious as well. I tried the apple pancakes and they were great, probably some of the best I’ve ever had. The place looked like it was very nicely run and the staff and Cooks cared and were friendly. The cozy brunch was a perfect way to spend a Sunday morning.
Edit: I went a second time for lunch and it was even better. Get those sweet potato fries! I definitely recommend this place. The staff and food were absolutely amazing.

A quaint and friendly spot on Section St. with great Burgers, Gyros, and Sandwiches. Will have to go back as we were told their Steak was voted best in Fairhope.

This place is so good, and every time I go I have excellent service! Try their pimento cheese, or if you’re there for dinner then the pork belly bites. Also, highly recommend their burger!

One of the best high quality lunch spots you can find in Fairhope! Fairly new location, spacious and airy and decorated with clean modern lines. There’s a bar area and then plenty of table seating. Highly recommend the turkey club! Possibly one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had… thick slices of roasted turkey with pear jam, bacon, tomato, and rosemary havarti cheese. Every entree comes with a side – their soups are fantastic and truffle fries are next level, make sure someone at your table orders the fries. Fish tacos and salads are also very good! And you can get half size salads because they’re pretty big.
