My husband and I arrived first and ordered drinks while waiting for the rest of our party. There were two bartenders on duty. The female bartender took our order and did a nice job preparing my Old Fashioned, while my husband ordered a beer on tap.
After about 20 minutes of sitting at the bar and saving seats for our party, the male bartender informed us that we needed to move because we were seated in the “walk-up” area. However, the designated walk-up section was clearly marked at the end of the bar with multiple signs — not in the middle where we were sitting. There were bar stools in the area we chose, so it was reasonable to assume it was appropriate seating for patrons.
The interaction felt abrupt and unnecessarily rude. To add to the confusion, this same bartender directed other customers standing in the clearly marked walk-up area to move toward the middle of the bar, seemingly so he wouldn’t have to walk back and forth to the POS system. The inconsistency made the situation even more frustrating.
If the intent is for the walk-up service area to be in the middle of the bar, clearer signage and removal of the stools in that section would help prevent misunderstandings. Unfortunately, due to the poor attitude and overall experience, we chose not to stay for the food and additional drinks we had originally planned to order once the rest of our party arrived.
Instead, we visited another local brewery where our party of four had an excellent experience and spent over $200 — largely because the customer service was welcoming and attentive.
We value good hospitality just as much as good beer, and sadly this visit fell short. We won’t be returning.
Food was fine. Be careful of allergies. The menu feels not curated by a chef, but the people in the kitchen can cook. Good cheese used for artichoke dip.
It’s an order at the bar and figure it out kinda place. They have good beers on tap and the food is decent. The service is sub par since you’re just ordering at the bar.
We sat at the bar and were dismissed a few times asking for water. It just felt a little cold.
Overall the experience was decent, but since we’re just visiting the area, we probably won’t be back.
